Gentle on the Stomach, Actually Helps with Energy
I picked up MegaFood Blood Builder because I’ve had borderline low iron for a while, and the usual iron supplements never worked for me—they either upset my stomach or I just couldn’t stay consistent with them. Since I travel a lot, I also needed something predictable that wouldn’t cause issues while I’m on the go. After a few weeks of use, I’d say this one mostly delivers on what it promises, but not in a dramatic, overnight way. First thing I noticed is that it’s genuinely easier on the stomach compared to typical iron pills. That alone makes a big difference. I’ve taken it both with and without food, and I didn’t get the usual nausea or that heavy feeling iron supplements sometimes cause. That seems to line up with what a lot of other people mention—this is one of the main reasons people stick with it. In terms of energy, the effect is gradual. I didn’t suddenly feel “boosted,” but over time I noticed less of that afternoon crash. It feels more like stabilization than stimulation, which I actually prefer. From what I’ve read in other users’ experiences, that slow improvement seems common—it’s not a quick fix, but it builds up. What I like: No noticeable digestive side effects (big win) Includes vitamin C, B12, and folate, so it feels more complete Easy to take consistently, even when traveling Tablets are not overly large compared to some others That said, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. The results take time. If you’re expecting fast changes in iron levels or energy, this might feel underwhelming at first. The price is higher than basic iron supplements. You’re paying for the “gentle” formulation and added nutrients. You have to stay consistent. Missing doses seems to slow down progress noticeably. In practical terms, this works well for people who need a daily maintenance supplement rather than a rapid correction. For example, if you’re managing mild iron deficiency, fatigue from low levels, or just trying to keep things balanced long-term, it fits that use case well. It’s also convenient if you’re traveling or have a busy schedule since it doesn’t require strict timing or pairing with meals. My expectation going in was simple: improve iron levels without side effects and help with fatigue over time. I’d say it met that expectation, but with the caveat that patience is required. It’s not a dramatic product, but it’s a reliable one. In terms of value for money, it depends on what you prioritize. If you’ve had issues tolerating iron supplements before, this is probably worth the extra cost. If not, cheaper options might do the job just as well. Overall, it feels like a well-designed supplement for consistency and comfort rather than speed.

Can Make a Dramatic Difference in One's Iron Level
Great product that has made a great difference in my iron level when tested. Same for my FIL who was going through Chemo. One pill a day does the trick! This is a quality product that likely costs more than the bargain brands, but you will appreciate the quality ingredients.

Easier to swallow then a capsule, and got my iron levels up to normal.
I tried another brand of Iron, one recommend by my O.B.. It was in capsule form, and was frequently hard to swallow. Even got stuck in my esophagus once to the point my body threw up just to get it out. I haven't had a problem swallowing the MegaFood supplements. They don't bother my stomach, and they got my iron levels up. I will buy them as long as my body needs it. I highly recommend them. They do have a nasty taste and scent, buch such is iron.

Great product!
My hemoglobin was low a few times when I wanted to donate blood. The person at The Blood Connection suggested this supplement. Since I’ve been taking it my hemoglobin is where it should be. Great product!
