Does this work on a 1200 watt amp?

Yes and love it. I used it with my 1600W Pioneer GM-D8601 amp. Note: It is a large size cap so make sure you have room to mount it close to the amp - best place to mount caps.

I have a kicker 2400 watt amp and two kicker comp 15s my lights are dimming and there killing my battery. Would this help with my problems?

Can you leave the capacitor wired up to the battery?
