Q: How do you install this? There were no instructions and no mounting hardware. It does not seam like its strong enough to support the weight. Please he

The mounting hardware included was a bit chintzy, so I used two self-drilling drywall anchors that are rated at 65lbs each. I already had a large box of them, so it did't cost me anything additional out of pocket. I loaded it down with immediately following and I don't think that thing would budge. I liked it so much I bought an additional 2 racks and already gave one as a housewarming present. So, don't cheap out on the anchors, because those are the real secret to success.

Q: what is the measurements between holders

3-1/2". I strongly recommend you use stronger wall anchors.

Q: What size pacakge does this arrive in? aka does it require assembly?

Package is about the same length as the product. The rack is assembled all you have to do is screw it to the wall, but there are no mounting screws included. I just picked up a couple of 100 pound drywall mounting screws and had it up in minutes, looks and works great.

Q: If it is 28 in. long...is it possible to make it 6" shorter?...hacksaw? I only have 22" of height available (only need to store 7 bottles vs 9)

I think you could do that, if you have moderate tool skills. It might require a little bending of the spine piece to make the join support properly.
