COAST® F1400 Serrated Stainless Steel Machete with 14" Blade and Sheath Included

This is precisely what I needed to live out my swashbuckling dreams and exact my revenge on the enormous patch of goldenrod that keeps me from accessing the far side of the patio.

This can pretty sharp. I honed it a little. It will slice right thru a giant bird of paradise now.(plant)

I don't know what this designer was thinking but the strap is a really poor design going right over the blade like that. I cut it in two myself and heat sealed the ends and melted two holes with a soldering gun to add 1/2 inch of length with a wire tie to go over the handle guard. Much more secure and no danger of the blade coming out and cutting through the strap.

Comfortable to hold and gets the job done when trimming the palms surrounding my back yard. I love my machete.

No flimsiness whatsoever. I sharpen all my knives on my own. Nothing worse than adult knife. This machete came pretty damn sharp from the factory. The saw blade on it was unexpectedly Sharp. I haven't seen a saw blade on a machete or any other K bar or knife for that matter that was a sharp as a saw blade. Great deal for the money great quality product

The size is insane the quality is amazing! I reccomend you to but it especially if you go exploring in the woods!

I got this for hiking in our local "mountainous" areas because some of the paths get overgrown with light brush and the ticks here will eat you alive or at least make you very sick if you happen to brush up against the brush.I took this out the day after I received it. It's a nice weight and shape and fits well in the hand but that's about all I can say that's good. As mentioned in another review the safety strap on the sheath was nearly cut off by only taking it out (LITERALLY) 3 times. No matter how you position that safety strap it's impossible for the serrated part not to cut it off and you do need a safety strap. As for cutting: UNFORGIVABLY HORRIBLE. I was absolutely flabbergasted that couldn't consistently cut anything brush over 1/8" no matter how I attacked it! I should have taken a video (but didn't). I tried cross cutting, up cutting, down cutting... nothing and these were branches of small saplings. The serrated end didn't fare much better on a dead piece of branch. I really wanted to keep this because the price was great and it was nearly the right size and balance but if it can't cut a small 1/8" branch then it's just dead weight I have to lug around on my belt. Maybe I should have tried to sharpen it up but honestly it should arrive razor sharp. Heck packaging was sharper when I finally got it out of it.Pros:Light weightComes with heavy duty nylon sheathfairly well balancedlow cost.CONS:It doesn't cut tiny branches and shrubbery!The blade however cuts the nylon safety strap when it's removed from the sheath.
