IRH Equi-Pro II Deluxe Schooling Helmet

I love this helmet. Ordered a M/L. I tried a Troxel Liberty on at Tractor Supply and a M fit perfect so I took a chance on this IRH Equip Pro, Matte Black M/L helmet. Price was better and warranty is excellent. I have to say’ love it more than T and the fit is absolutely perfect. Don’t hesitate to buy. It’s wonderful and super comfortable and has great adjustable features

I needed a new helmet and didn't want to spend $300+. Thought I would try this knowing I could return if I didn't like it. I LOVE it! It's cooler and lighter than my old helmet, looks good and doesn't make me feel like a bobble head. I love the way you can size the helmet perfectly for your head. Chin strap is comfortable.

I've worn Charles Owen for decades but when mine fell and cracked I was having a hard time swallowing the price tag. I was looking at oneK which really aren't any cheaper and then decided to try this one bceause I could return it and it was just over 50 bucks. I figured I don't have a show any time soon and I need to protect my noodle so as long as it wasn't huge it would work. I was VERY SURPRISED by how nice this helmet was. It looks as nice as a GPA when they are sitting side by side. The adjustble knob is very discreet. I am beyond pleased that I bought a helmet that looks this good and has all the safety features as one hundreds of dollars more. Edit: it's been 2 years and I'm still wearing it weekly! I still find it to be incredibly comfortable and it's very lightweight and all the vents keep me cool. I keep it in a hat bag and there are no scratches and when I wipe it down it still looks almost new. I would buy this helmet again! I'm still surprised I found such great quality at such a value on Amazon.

I ordered this helmet for my son because they had this model helmet to borrow at the stable where he takes lessons, and it fit him well. No complaints about the quality and design of the helmet itself! Some are not aware, but helmets are are supposed to be replaced 4 years from the date of manufacture, because the impact absorbing styrofoam becomes brittle over time and doesn't absorb impact as well. All helmets have a sticker with the manufacture date on the inside. I ordered this helmet in March of 2024, and the manufacture date sticker said 3/2021. Very disappointed; they sent me a helmet that is only a year away from needing replacement. This is why it's better to buy them in store.

I'll admit that I wanted a much more "bedazzled" helmet than this, because I did not want to get that "big head" look. Additionally, I'm pretty averse to wearing helmets in the summer anyway because I once got heat stroke while riding with a helmet on, despite due diligence with hydrating, staying cool, etc. However, this helmet, though plain, looks very good on - I'd even wear it in a low-level or local show without ANY second thoughts regarding my appearance. It's a low-profile helmet and very light. Also, I wore this over our first 90-degree weekend in Central Texas and I didn't regret it - the ventilation is perfect and the lining does not inhibit the cooling at all. The sizing seems to be spot-on, but the helmet is adjustable, which I really appreciate. I like this helmet so much that I have determined I will not be riding my new colt without it. IRH has converted me to a religious helmet-wearer and my mom appreciates that! As a side-note: my biggest concern in ordering this helmet was whether it would work as both an "every day practice" AND as a lower-level/low-rated show helmet. In my opinion, this helmet is perfect for just that - it is not a "beginner" type helmet, but it certainly is versatile. You might eventually want a nicer helmet for higher levels in dressage, working equitation, breed shows, etc., but this one is great if you need an easily-cleaned and high-value helmet to start showing colts or to enter your first shows/events without investing too much.

I haven’t ridden in this helmet yet, but it seems very nice. The purple is matte and it still looks somewhat sophisticated even though it’s a fun color. The helmet is comfortable, but it is SNUG. I got the M/L and it fits, but it’s very tight when it’s on the loosest setting. I think this is fine since they are supposed to fit snug, but if my head was any bigger at all it wouldn’t fit. Based on my measurement my head is 58 cm, and the helmet says it fits 55-60 cm. I would just be wary of this when purchasing if you have a big head. It’s very lightweight and feels very well padded. For the price it’s worth it.
