Laurel or Hardy: Early Films of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy (Flicker Alley) [Blu-ray]

If you love silent comedy, this is a treasure that belongs in your collection.However, if you are easily offended by what some would consider racist comedy, don't waste your money and buy some 2021 socially acceptable comedy.A lot of work went into tracking down these rarities and restoring them. Hats Off to the folks who put out this labor of love.

Absolutely beautiful transfers of some very funny comedies. I had not seen many of these so it is a special treat. So happy to enjoy this obvious labor of love.

Don't waste money on this one. Opened the container removed the first Disc placed it into my Blurayplayer and it would not play the files. Changed players (I have 2 of them) It opened and played thefirst one then quit. Sent it back got a replacement it was worse than the first one.

Three stars for the time and effort to restore these films and transfer them to Blu Ray/DVD. But these are not Laurel & Hardy films. I won't claim that they're not at least somewhat enjoyable, but the personalities in these ancient curiosities bear zero resemblance to the characters we all love as "Stan and Ollie." I will say this: I'd rather watch these flicks with the boys operating independently than the cringeworthy garbage they were forced (for financial reasons) to make in the 1940s.

Son cortos de Laurel y Hardy cuando iban por caminos separados, buscando un hueco en el cine cómico mudo. Laurel -aunque seguramente nunca lo admitiría- tendía a imitar a su ex-colega Chaplin; Hardy funcionaba mejor cuando no era el protagonista. El hecho de que se juntaran, probablemente, salvó sus carreras. Y más cuando vino el sonoro. ABC Region!
