Highly recommended
A solution to a problem.Love my fire TV cube, but hate the remote, for such a premium product the standard, and pro, remotes are awful. Having both sight issues and neuropathy makes using the remote a chore. Yes, Alexa is always there handily waiting for commands, but asking her to pause any video takes a second to répond, and my voice wakes up the cats (first world problems)!I needed a solution, and this was it after a bit of research. Now to pause the fire TV it’s one click, volume up, double click, volume down, hold. Remote can be happily ignored until it’s time to select something new.Highly recommended. If you are having issues linking it to devices in Alexa after pairing the skill, make sure you have changed the default name of the button within the Flic app.

How to set up with Alexa
These Flic buttons work very well once set up. Need to download Flic app and select Alexa, then on Alexa app search for Flic and add skill. Then you can program it to do what you want through the routine section. Got mine to turn on and off my pond fountain, great and works well.

Well made but don’t forget the hub for matter
When deciding what I wanted to buy I didn’t realise these needed the hub too in order to use matter. This also means the buttons don’t show in your HomeKit app, you have to choose their actions within the Flic app.

Couldn’t connect it - sent it back.
I’m pretty sure I did everything right, and I have more Smart Home devices than most people dream about (or have nightmares about, depending on your view on Smart Home devices).I downloaded the Flic app.I created an accountI linked the Flic skill in AlexaI had Bluetooth enabled (as per the Flic App’s instruction)I pressed ”+” in the Flic app.I pressed and held the Flic button and the red light flashedNothing - couldn’t/wouldn’t connect.I put a new battery in the Flic button and repeated the “+” function.Nothing - still couldn’t/wouldn’t connect.I packed up the Flic button, put it back in the box, returned it, deleted the Flic app.I have to say that at £30 a pop, it’s pretty expensive for what it is, so I’m kinda glad it didn’t work.At the same time I’m kinda frustrated that after all this time, it’s still beyond the wit of man (or Flic) to make a device that connects first time and just works.Flic, couldn’t you have implemented it using the “universal” Tuya/Smartlife app?

Lacking compatibility
Firstly, the physical product is excellent. Very sleek. The problem is the software. Flic seem to be trying to force the Flic app to be the center of your smart home, rather than seamlessly integrating into existing smart architecture, such as smatthings or home assistant. If you run extremely basic setups, this may be for you. Otherwise, don't bother. The fact they operate on Matter is practically meaningless too.

Good, connectivity could be better though
Works well, but disappointing that the phone they’re connected to needs to be nearby. Understandably because the connection is through Bluetooth, but maybe would be better to have a wifi option to allow people to use the buttons when the person that set them up isn’t home.Look good & simple and easy to set up though!
