The Jean Paul arrived in great condition with no quality issues. The tone quality is great and the keys are easy to play. This sax is a very good intermediate horn.

Q: Is it okay to buy a used tenor sax?

Yes, there are a lot of great instruments out there, but you need to be caerful. A used horn can look good and still need new pads, or cork, or many other repairs. If you don't know what to look for there is a lot of information on line or your local music shop, or teacher can help.

Q: How does this sax compare to a Yamaha or Selmer?

It was on part with the Yamaha my son used for a year.

Q: Are the keys inlayed? so like the actual button curves inward

The buttons do feel slightly concave.
