Simple install. Wish I didn't have to do it twice in 1.5 years
I replaced this on 7/21 and again on 1/23. The first was a bad defrost thermostat. The second was a bad connection at the heater...more of a bad connector from GE, but replacing it seems good to go. Glass tube heaters are not always the best in longevity, but you go with what was designed. The kit is cheap enough to buy a back up if needed...I mean when needed. This is one of the highest failures of most modern fridges and the easiest to fix.

On time delivery, all in working order, unit is functioning great. As to longevity... unknown. Parts have only been in a little more than a week.

Fixed my problem
Seems like this part goes every two years or so. Hopefully the new design will last a bit longer. Still cheaper than a new fridge.

GE Freezer was icing and replaced heater element to fix icing
The heater element was removed after deicing the freezer and 11 we remove the Old heater element it was noticed that the Old eater heater Was discolored And showed evidence of Damage. We replaced with The New heater element provided by Amazon After Approximately 5 Days of running the GE model GSH25jxsnss Refrigerator it has been working well and shows no signs of freezing on the back Wall of the freezer, see attached photo!
