Ultrathon Insect Repellent Lotion with up to 12 Hours of Time Release Protection (Pack of 3)

I bought these for a five week trek across Asia and they worked perfectly. No bug bites. They smell like Deet-based products but they did the job!

I went to Cambodia in May/June and loved this lotion. I was in the city for most of my visit but did also visit rural areas. I was religious about applying it every morning. I used the lotion on my face, neck, shoulders, hairline, and ears. I also bought the spray for my arms and legs (a little sticky but tolerable). I applied the lotion over my makeup and the first day it didn’t smear my foundation, but other days it did. Maybe because I left time for my makeup to set (Ester Lauder Double Wear) during breakfast, then applied the lotion before going outside. It did make my face/skin shiny, but I’d rather be protected! I had also sprayed my clothes with permethrin and didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes! I reapplied spray in the evenings, and made sure to scrub it off in the shower. I liked the small size lotion to have one I could carry with me for reapplication but didn’t really need to. You notice the bug spray scent when you first put it on, but I wore it all day and I didn’t notice the scent later.

I use this product during the Alabama spring turkey season when the mosquitos are terrible. I put it on my face, neck and ears. I have not had any adverse skin reactions, so I will say it's safe for your face and neck as well as other body areas. Make sure you don't get it in your eyes! It remains effective for over 5-6 hours in my situation. The scent, if any, is not very strong and does not bother me in any way. Overall, I have been very pleased with this product. After nearly choking on the fumes from a store bought big name aerosol bug repellent that was more a quick way to lose $5 than an effective product, I figured that I should try what the pros use, and that search led me to Ultrathon. It has worked well all summer. No leaks from the tube. As easy as you're going to get applying a cream. Keeps bugs away for real. So many other products fall down on that last one. You can cover 95% of your body and the mosquitos will all find that 5% that you missed and bite the hell out of it. With Ultrathon I didn't see that happening. Nice!There is a smell that's not compatible with date night, but given the choice of being bitten up and smelling a little bad, I'll choose the latter. And when it's two of us with the same smell, really...who cares?It's good to see a true "industrial product available to the general public" that isn't just marketing hype. This is as good as you're going to get IMO.

Bought this for a trip to India.Having three containers was very useful, and the size was perfect for carry-on luggage.4 Stars for Longevity, as its advertised for 12 hours "release time". I would say this is realistically based on how much you sweat or swim while using this cream.I was finding myself applying it twice a day while in India, which wasn't too hot while there (80F-90F, place I was at was low Humidity).Though when I did apply this Repellent Cream, it was like I had a force field keeping the insects away. This stuff works. It works great.4 Stars for Scent - The Scent can be a little strong, especially when in a vehicle, but I get thats the main reason why it works so well against biting insects.

I recently went to Uganda. When I went to get my travel vaccines, the nurse recommended this brand of mosquito repellent. She said I could travel with them and that they were very strong. I hadn't thought too much about bug spray, but man am I happy I brought this. Any time we were in an area where there were a lot of bugs, my friends would get eaten alive and I would go untouched. I was amazed! It was so easy to travel with both on the plane (had no issues taking it on the plane) and I would through it in a small backpack when we went hiking. I was in Africa for two weeks and still have all three bottles. A little goes a long way! Happy to have these in my medicine cabinet.

Used on a pack trip by horseback into the mountains and this stuff was a lifesaver! Goes on like a lotion but is not greasy or smelly. I literally watched mosquitos try to land on me and then took off immediately. Highly recommend for anyone hiking, biking, horseback riding or any activity outside.

I bought this for a trip to South Africa. While the product worked OK, it is quite sticky on the skin and led to peeling on some areas of the skin where it was applied. As a result we didn't use much of it and it was difficult to get my kids to use it. We bought a local lotion while we were there which worked much better and felt lighter whereas this cream feels heavy and sticky. Also the amount recommended was much more than what we used so we ended up buying too many tubes which are still unused and we have missed the return window for them. All in all I would not buy it again.
