Can someone please tell me what streaming apps are included in this model & can you add apps to it? thanks l. ooten

It has room on the main screen to hold 9+ of your favorite apps ready-to-go, and you can add more. ALL the major ones - Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, mubi, Crackle, tubi, and some top audio streaming as well - iHeart, Slacker, Pandora

can i connect the x800’s lan connector directly to the ethernet(lan) connector on my gateway to update the software or to the usb port on my imac?

No, the Ethernet connection needs to be connected to your router or modem to perform the firmware updates.
