Steno Pad, 80 Pages - 6" x 9"

If your search for thick paper top spiral bound steno pad has lead you here, this is what you want! I did that years ago and have never looked back. These have thick paper and a hard cover. One of the best features is that you can prop it up like an A-frame next to your computer and type at eye level. Other steno pads would just fold and fall over when I tried that. We also use the entire page and overtime time other brands would start curling at the bottom making them hard to use after you’ve been using them awhile. Not these field notes, they’re perfect. If you need to use it regularly and maybe even ruggedly, this is your pad! It’s just as rigid after a year of daily use as it was when new. The pages are the perfect thickness, they do not bleed through to the other side with any type of pen except a sharpie. Due to the info we document, we must archive and keep these for several years even when they’re filled up. It’s nice to know that if they ever quit making these, we can put a big “X” on the front cover, flip it over and start using it again with the opposite side of the page like it’s a brand new pad. We don’t do this now, because 13 bucks is reasonable enough for us to just use the one side of the page. But in a bind, we could just start over by just turning the pad over and use the back cover as the new “front” cover. Awesome product. The company truly realizes that the little things are exactly what customers are looking for. Such as stiff covers, and thicker pages. Sure, the cheaper stenos are great for certain usage, but if you’re frustrated with the paper quality or not being able to A-frame for using them next to a computer, you definitely need these!

I deploy often for disaster relief management and have a notepad by my side at all times to keep track of important details and contacts. I keep these notes for archival purposes and find that a contact from months ago can really come in handy. Since I use it in rough conditions and need to keep the notes for future use, a regular steno pad just doesn't hold up to the abuse this one is durable, the right size, has heavyweight paper. The pen just flows across the page. It's easy to use and stands up to the challenge. A little pricier, but well worth the money.

These are excellent high quality steno pads. The paper is good quality paper, thicker than average so you can write on both sides without it bleeding through. If you use pencil you can erase many time without damaging the surface. The cover and spiral binding are well made and hold up to being stuffed in a briefcase or tote. I will be purchasing these regularly.

Yes, these are more expensive; I've spent far more on cheap ones over the year and they've never done the job. The covers are hard enough you don't have to put them on something to write. The covers are hard enough it's easy to flip through to find things you've written. The flimsy one on your fridge? You always have to find counter space to write on. Doing something and making notes? I used to write them slantwise and illegible because because that was the angle of the notebook. If you always remember things to be done just as you're going to bed use this to write them down. There are any number of uses but try this. Invest in one and walk through the house making notes of odds and ends, things you'd usually stop and do. Doing them all at once is a game changer. I could go on about uses around the house but there are other things. What about do you do woodworking? I gave one to a friend, he now has a lot because - remember the flimsy one on your fridge? - he doesn't have to move things around to make notes. Another friend now keeps one with her gardening tools. Both of have given then to people with other interests. I used to have one next to the chair I read and watch TV in - always shows I wanted to remember! - but I'm reading a lot of non-fiction right now and a different product is better for interesting things and notes to cross reference. And, of course, in professional life. I'm not a stenographer, mostly I use them for things I'd forget by the time I got to my desk. People who work for me, in additional to the professional a birthday or anniversary so I remember to say something. And always, always have it when I step into my employers office. My own notes are easy to find, and I scribble down notes about whatever project we're working on. I do some independent contracting, helping people organize their thoughts for a project or ad campaign. And some helping people organize their homes. No, I don't actually use six of these! I use both sides. For example the one I use at home. One side is the regular walk through for odds and ends, pens of a different color scattered around for big things, lint in the dryer, steam clean curtains etc, now and then "have a plumber check this!" in another. End of the day put it on the bedside table. But I have two left from the ones I bought on sale. It was three until I gave one to the person who does odd jobs for me and others. A gift to us, not him. I just realized I've been being stupid. I just spent forever trying to write a comprehensive list of all the ways you can use a steno book, you're already looking at steno books. So to sum up the review, these are so good they're worth the work that went into reviewing them.

My favorite book. I’ve been getting these for years. Pen fits in the top which I like. The cover is thicker than a normal steno which helps it to keep its shape in my bag. Standard steno size which is easier to carry than a larger notebook. Has the normal amount of pages you’d expect. Price is a little higher but the function and sturdiness supports the higher price.

Hands down the best analog writing experience. For the longest time I was a Moleskine, soft, grid, standard size black notebook user. Obvs I use a black sharpie pen for 99.5% of all my analog writing needs. While working at an ad agency, I found that my note taking speed couldn't keep up with the words per second from the auctioneers, I mean account directors using the Moleskine... the page turning process was cumbersome, the center binding - was like the Rockies for the Donners, bad. This steno pad effortlessly delivers on every page. The cover, while rugged looking is more of a sturdy suede cardboard. The pages you ask? Butter cream and smooth as a polished Petoskey Stone. If you demand a writing experience equal to your professionalism and you want to get the most out of every one of your hard earned dollars - this is the notebook for you. #thisisintadvice

I need a notepad that has a hard backing for field use. This one fits the bill. The backing is much stiffer than the multipack steno pads at Sams or Staples, and the pages are a little thicker to. I you need something that will stand up to outdoor use, I recommend this item. It is a bit pricy, so you don't need it if all you are doing is writing on a desktop or table top, but it is highly worth it for field work. After ordering on as a test, I ordered several more for back-up supply in case this item becomes unavailable because most people do not want to pay the higher price.. Good product

The paper thickness meets my neurodivergent needs. The top spiral makes it easier for my left handed writing. I just wish it came on 5x8.
