Q: My monitor turns off often and will not turn on when I push buttons. Does it only turn on when you have a load on? Is there a way to turn on manually

On mine if you press and hold both V and % buttons it will turn on (or off) back light continuously

Q: Can you get longer cable so you can mount the monitor in the trailer.

I just found extension cables available through Amazon. "Custom Cable for Battery Monitor 26 AWG With Connector Stranded Shielded Cable - 16 Feet" There is also a 25ft cable

Yes it does, after you either enter your battery bank data or take it through a charge/discharge cycle and set the 100%/0% values.

When the backlight is flashing it means it’s on power and is charging.
