Unexpectedly outstanding, overhead-compliant-size, no-wheels bag
Very much like this item. Had not expected to; thought it would be fit to purpose for a one-off. But it meets carry on restrictions without having the wheels that get it taken away from you, and if you're fit enough for the weight you pack, the backpack straps make it super easy to carry, plus handholds on two sides. The zipper expansion rocks too: though it makes it oversize (still not as big as bags the airlines routinely allow despite their purported restrictions), if you have compressible contents such as clothes, you can use the expansion feature combined with side straps to pack and then cinch back down to compliance size. I also like that the zippers are double and have holes for a luggage lock.

I ordered this bag for a work trip because I didn’t want to be burdened with a rolling carry-on suitcase. When it first arrived, I wasn’t sure that I would keep it. It seemed smaller than what I had gathered from the description and reviews. By the time I was done packing more than enough clothing plus a large toiletry bag, I found that I did not even need to open the expander. I cannot vouch for water resistance because it did not rain. Pros: It is made out of very solid material. The zippers are durable. The clips for the optional straps are metal rather than plastic. The traps are optional, which is great even though I’m sure I’ll always use them. It fits way more than expected at first judgment (I do use compression packing cubes for organization, though). I needed a tote bag to carry a couple of extra things but, like I said, I didn’t open the expander. I love that it opens from the side rather than end but still has a pretty spacious front compartment that can be accessed from the top. Cons: The only con I experienced was that the shoulder straps are not very padded, so it wasn’t perfectly comfortable. It’s understandable because they can be hidden in a compartment and not meant to be bulky, but the top part of the straps could use more cushioning. I’m happy to have this bag even though I own a nice duffel and rolling carry-on. It might be my new go-to.
