Yes, I agree! Buy it from Home Depot! It has the same boric acid “percentage” it’s literally the exact same so I don’t know why they’re trying to charge $11+ when we can get it for less than $3

Does it kill black carpet beetles?

Yes it will kill all insects in carpet. It will take a week or so because maxattrax attacks' the nervous system of insects. It does not kill instantly. I have been using this product for years.

How small is the tip?

It's fairly small, to reach into cracks and be precise with. I personally just sprayed it EVERYWHERE and went a little overboard, it did work though!

Can I use this to make bait for crickets in the basement?

You used it to avoid insects to get in the house and it worked.
