Soft and warm
My husband loves these shirts. He wears them skiing and as an under layer in the winter. They are thin and soft. They didn’t shrink.

Returned due to size
Quality of the shirt seemed great. I returned due to size. The shirt fitted too tightly and was short on my torso. I'm 5'10" and 190 to 195 lbs. Carry some in my mid section but largely still 'fit' looking. For reference, I'm normally a large in shirts and a ~33" waist for most pants.

The Perfect First Layer
I perspire a lot, particularly with exercise. Long ago I learned about the virtues of polypropylene. Any cold weather activity with cotton underwear is a sentence to being cold. I have tried many brands of polypropylene first layers. They frayed, they pilled, they tore and developed holes. Then I discovered Helly Hansen. Top price, but I had been disappointed by all others. WOW. Worth every penny. Years of use of their first layer with no cotton and I am warm and dry when snow shoeing, XC skiing, snow blowing and hunting. Use a second layer of standard polyester pile, and you can do single digit temps, with vigorous exercise and still be warm and dry. This is one item that going cheep doesn't work. When you are outside, wet and cold, price doesn't matter. Go for the top on this one. HH makes them well, and they last, and they work. Stinks
Both items (the white T shirts and the Helly Hansen top) stink. I can't be sure what the smell is but it is extremely offensive. I can't wear them it makes me want to vomit. Please replace them.

Excellent
I bought it on sale for a CO ski trip. I usually wear Patagonia capilene base layers. I used the HH shirt almost exclusively and now use it as a base on the bike. Could wear multiple days without washing and no smell, so perfect when traveling light.

These run very small
I haven’t tested this product in the field yet but Im sure it will get the job done. The point of my review is that these run incredibly small. I originally ordered my normal size Large and it wasn’t even close to fitting. I then ordered an XL and it is still pretty tight but Im going to keep it as I don’t want to deal with it. I would order 1, if not 2 sizes larger than normal
