used for my basements sump pump
I have a sump pump down in my basement fort when it may flood the little. I ordered this in order to sense when to turn on the sump pump. It is very effective and as soon as it detects water it is able to turn on my sump pump which helps prevent the flooding of my basement.

Excellent commercial grade construction and works with my well to keep my tank from overflowing.
Perfect float switch for my application- keeping a 10,000-gal upright water tank from overflowing when full that is being kept full- from a solar/ battery bank/ inverter- power supply. As of now someone has to keep monitoring the water level visually and then turn off the pump. With this float switch installed in the top of the tank- everything will be on autopilot and when full this float switch will rise up and turn the pump off. Tested it and no problems- it works right out of the box. Great find!

FUNCTIONAL WATER LEVEL METER
This water level meter works. The whole unit appears to be fairly durable, water tight and made out of non-corrosive material. It has three wires at the end so that you can easily find the right combination for a Normally Open or a Normally Closed circuit, depending on the design of your system. I like this better than some two wire system which requires you to reverse the sensor.

It's a float switch
I'm using this as part of an over flow alarm. I've zip tied it to the discharge pipe of a sump pump so that or activates an alarm is the pit over fills. I'm not using the weight. There switch worked the one time I tested it.
