Nice untippable dish!
Weโre using this for a ground-level bee and butterfly watering station (yellow float added), and seems to be working. I appreciate that the dish is heavy, so it cannot be easily tipped over. Iโve also seen a kitty neighbor or two use it, so bonus! Great value, quality, and water capacity. I reckon this would also work well for dogs of many sizes as well (our 15lb chi-errier pup is also pictured for comparison), although you would want a smaller floating landing pad.

Great Dog Food Bowl
This bowl was purchased to feed my GS/Mal mix. Sheโs a big dog and eats twice a day, 1/2 lb each serving. I use FreshPet dog food which is a wet food. I bought the 8 cup, thinking it would be perfect but when the bowl arrived I thought it was too big. Since using it Iโm glad I bought the 8 cup. Itโs the perfect size and is heavy so it doesnโt slide all the way across the floor and into the other room because my dog has to get every last morsel! I have it on a cloth mat which helps with that. I think if your dog is like mine, a ferocious feeder, and you donโt have the bowl on something, they still might slide it across your smooth floor, so I recommend a mat underneath. It might have been a good idea to put a silicon ring or rubber ring around the bottom for just that reason (donโt steal my idea unless you plan on cutting me in on the profits dog bowl people!) So the depth of the bowl is fine for food, but my dogโs mouth wasnโt made correctly, apparently, she leaks all over the place when she drinks. Thereโs no way Iโd ever use this bowl for water unless I need my floor mopped with my socks. I definitely recommend this heavy bowl for food, but not for water unless you have a very proper, tactful and courteous drinker.

Perfect tiny dishes for tiny ducklings
I ordered these to use in my duckling brooder with my 1-3 day old ducklings. Ducklings tend to climb in and over their food and water bowls from a very early age and make a big mess when the bowls tip over. I hoped that these dishes would be heavy enough that they wouldn't tip over easily but would still be small enough that the ducklings didn't fit in them very well (to discourage playing in the water bowl). These dishes are perfect. They hold enough food and water for the babies while they figure out eating and drinking and don't tip over when the ducklings climb and hop into/out of them. The ducklings do still climb into and stand in their water, but these bowls are so small that the little bit of water that gets displaced by duckling doesn't make a big mess in the brooder. It definitely helps that only one duckling can fit in the bowl at a time. I bought the slightly larger version of these dishes too for the bigger ducklings. Those dishes are also great but the bigger the dish, the more ducklings will try to squeeze into it which means more water spills out. The mess they make isn't a big deal, just means cleaning up more often and refilling the dishes more frequently. (All expected and accepted parts of raising ducklings.) If you have a very small pet that is likely to climb all over their food and water dishes, I'd highly recommend these! I can't remember if the description listed how much these hold or just the diameter of the dish but I checked the volume myself out of curiosity. I measured 3 oz of water after filling the dish. You may be able to get 3.5 or 4 oz but that's filling it all the way to the rim and will likely spill out pretty quickly.

big and wide and heavy... loving it
We have two large Goldens who will slide ordinary stainless steel bowls all over the kitchen during meal times trying to get every last bit of food from out of the corners. So I was looking for a sturdy, heavy-weighted bowl that was large enough to hold a reasonable amount of raw food for a large dog. The standard large SS bowls typically hold 2-1/2 qts by volume (that would be filled to the rim, which nobody actually does for obvious reasons). The info I was looking for was weight and inside dimensions for comparisons as well as volume. This info is not clear for this bowl so I'd like to give a straight forward answer to anybody who needs this info... the largest size measures 9" inside diameter (the advertised outside diameter is 9.5" but really no one cares about outside dimensions, am I right? After all you're surely not going to purchase this stoneware bowl to fit inside of a raised feeder, there's no lip on the thing), and the inside height measurement is 2". How does this compare to a typical large SS bowl? Most usually measure 8" inside diameter and 2-1/2" inside height. Now for what's really important it holds a standard volume of 2-1/2 qts filled to the rim. Exactly equivalent to a large SS bowl. The optical illusion is that it doesn't hold as much is because it is wider and lower than the SS bowl plus the bottom is slightly raised and concave. Fear not however as I've used a measuring cup to exactly determine the volume so if a SS bowl has enough volume for you, so will this large bowl. As for the weight... as you would expect it is heavy... like 3-lbs 5 ounces as compare to a cheap large SS bowl which usually weighs around 5 ounces with a better thicker heavy gauge steel one maybe reaching twice that weight. Our dogs no longer move the bowls at meal times regardless of how tasty the stuff in the corners are. And speaking of corners these bowls have very high steep angles with a small radius, oh I would have preferred a swallow radius however you can't always get everything you want. Still the dogs do not have a problem getting their tongues into those corners and in fact it is made much easier for them since the bowl does not slide away. Durable and easy to clean. Now for the down sides... very HEAVY, will shatter if dropped (one bowl arrived broken in the box and so had to be replaced) and remember its stoneware so the edge on the bottom will likely scratch countertops and flooring if slid around without a mat of some sort below. Bottom line is, for us, these were what we were looking for... big, wide and heavy.

Cannot tell when water is empty
The color of the bowl is a beautiful blue but I use it for a water bowl and you cannot tell when it is empty, wish it had other color options. Besides that it is a good size and quality for larger dogs.

German Shepherd approved!
It is a really nice heavy duty ceramic dog bowl. It weighs nearly 4 lb. Looks great and holds the perfect amount of food. My bowl weighs nearly 4 lb. That weight keeps it stationary when the dog is eating.

The ceramic dog dish made it !
Love these bowls , I use them in my pens. The dogs can not flip them The issue is with the delivery. First time. 4 dishes in boxes in a box no packing. The picture sent to verify delivery was not the correct picture I have a posted gate , for someone to put the single package by the second gate. 10 feet away is irresponsible . The first picture was of 2 packages leaning against the 6 foot privacy fence The driver had to toss it over my 3 rail fence onto my asphalt driveway . One dish was broke , they did replace it but huge hassle returning broken dish to UPS 30 minutes away . This one arrived fine.

Perfect for a fair-weather outdoor bowl for wildlife and stray pets
In the winter we use heated bowls, but when the weather turns warmer we like to have metal or ceramic bowls outside for the critters that prefer to drink at ground level. I am very pleased with the bowl - it looks great, is sturdy, and the interior is easy to clean. And the squirrels, little birds, bees, and our two visiting neighborhood cats all are pleased as well. I like that is large and I don't have to refill it two-three times a day. But I clean it out daily so as not to transmit diseases or create a breeding pond for mosquitoes.

Kitty Approved
I , Magic, 1 year old void goddess, queen of all I see, approve of this wonderful dish. I have had my human servant place it in the bathroom were I take my afternoon naps. The size is perfect . Deep enough to hold ample cold water that is replenished daily by my servant. Wide enough to prevent whisker fatigue when I partake of a long drink. I would give it 5 paws , however I am constrained to the human rating system however silly it is. So 5 stars
