Wilkinson Sword Classic Double Edge Premium Men’s Metal Safety Razor with x5 Refill Blades

Ordered the razor & blades for my cousin who complained shaving with disposable razors didn’t give a close shave. He called last night to say it was the first good shave he’s had in years! Sometimes the old ways are most reliable. Wish I hadn’t gotten rid of Pop’s old razors.

Good smooth shave. So much better than multi-blade razors.

After watching some shaving videos touting safety or double-edged razors, I decided to give this product a try. I've used disposable razors for all but the early years of my 50 years of shaving. I was ready to try a different razor, plus liked the economics that the double-edged razor would be cheaper in the long run. If one knows they prefer a double-edged razor, then this razor is probably fine. It is heavy and seems high-quality. I have no other double-edged razor to compare this against. But after four uses, I'm giving up on this razor and going back to disposable. Mostly because it takes longer to stop the bleeding on my face and neck from this razor than it does to shave with the disposable. The first use was a mess, not razor cuts, but just countless little nicks,, mostly on my neck. I tried to be more careful the second use, watching the angle of the blade and shaving carefully. Then I realized it would take me twice as long to shave with this razor, having to be so careful. On the third use, I shaved one side of my face/neck with the new razor and the other side with a disposable was already used. The disposable was much faster to use with the result being just as smooth. After a fourth try today and more bloody nicks, I decided I am done with this razor. I want shaving to be quick and easy. I don't want to have to be careful. Because I just have to shave again tomorrow. Again, this product may be a fine razor, but it is not for me. And I would caution anyone considering the switch from a disposable razor.

I just did a side by side visual and shave comparison review video of this razor against the Wilkinson Sword Double Edge Safety Razor. They appear to be the exact same razor in slightly different packaging, yet they're charging 66% more for this razor. I'd love to know what the difference is to the $18 WS. Good entry level razor but save your money and buy the $18 WS.

I love this razor, it’s heavy so it feels like a real authentic razor and the supply of blades are packaged neatly making it very handy for when you want to swap the blade. It is easy to clean by the opening of the razor at the top for when swapping the blade so this is a definite choice for when needing a good close shave.

Très satisfait, un rasage précis et agréable J'utilise ce rasoir depuis environ une semaine et je suis vraiment très satisfait de mon achat. Points positifs : Très bonne qualité de fabrication, le manche est lourd et agréable à tenir. Le rasage est précis et permet d'obtenir une peau très lisse. J'apprécie particulièrement la simplicité du système : pas besoin d'une tête à 5 lames complexe. Les lames sont faciles à remplacer et le lot de 5 lames fourni permet déjà de faire plusieurs rasages. Le rasoir se rince facilement après utilisation. Très bon rapport qualité/prix. Par rapport aux rasoirs 3, 4 ou 5 lames, je trouve que le résultat est tout à fait comparable en termes de précision, avec une sensation différente pendant le rasage. Avec plusieurs lames, le rasage peut sembler plus rapide et plus « automatique », alors qu'ici il faut être un peu plus attentif à l'angle et à la pression. En contrepartie, je trouve le résultat très propre et le rasage particulièrement agréable. On dirait un rasage à l'ancienne comme chez le barbier. Points négatifs : Le principal inconvénient est qu'il faut prendre un petit coup de main lorsqu'on vient d'un rasoir à cartouches 3, 4 ou 5 lames. Il faut notamment éviter d'appuyer trop fort. Mais après quelques utilisations, cela devient très naturel. Après une semaine d'utilisation, je suis donc très satisfait. Pour quelqu'un qui souhaite passer d'un rasoir classique à un rasoir à double tranchant, je trouve que c'est une excellente option pour commencer.
