I had tried using a full sized wireless keyboard, but that caused some games to crash. Using this, so far no problem with any game crashing. Yes the repeat delay is quite short so double letters are common until you get used to releasing key as it clicks. It was easy to fit to the controller, I found lining it up then holding the controller by the sides and pressing down on a solid surface made the unit fit properly. I did try other ways but you end up pressing triggers or buttons as you connect the two. The battery drain on the controller is quite high and you will see 'Controller battery is low' more often. On the plus side anything that needs a text input (Netflix search/chatting etc) becomes trivial to do. Only thing I would suggest is the addition of maybe small foam pads on the inside of the part which marries up to the controller handles, as there is a slight wobble where they don't exactly mate together.

This model is only suitable for certain Xbox consoles so be sure to read the sales page carefully to ensure that it will be compatible with your model. This chatpad/mini keyboard has a green backlit feature which certainly helps typing by illuminating the keys. I bought this as a gift and my daughter initially had a little trouble fitting it - until she looked again at the instructions and read them properly. Moral of this story - don't assume you know what you are doing, always go through the instructions step by step. Once fitted it hardly gave any additional weight in the hand, does not get in the way at all of the controls and is perfect for quick typing to chat in games - especially the larger online games. For the money, I find this to be very acceptable, especially given how much it makes typing faster and so much easier than using the controller to pick out letters one at a time via an on-screen keyboard. For such a small price (£25.99 at the time of this review) it is worth every penny and, having seen it in use, this is likely to be an essential add-on for gamers who might also need to type or chat during their gaming session. Provided the instructions are read first then there should be no problem at all setting this up and using it.

Fits on to controller (series x) well with no wobble (push it on till clicks into place) works with both a wired and wireless headset but leave the headphone plug retracted in the unit if you use a wireless headset or the mic won't work. Wanted keys lit to see in dark and that works well. Only issues are it doesn't like the letter "O" much and usually misses it out I'm sure I'll get used to pressing harder on the "O" to make sure it registers, it sometimes repeats a letter (can't remember which N maybe) if it wasnt for that I'd give 5 starts. It would probably be more annoying if I was to type long messages but only really using it for a few Ark server commands so far.

Does not work do not buy gas part built on it so u can’t connect it to any controller avoid this product at all cost

While having a standard keyboard is way better functionality-wise, this is the next best thing; Especially if you have to type a lot; Works as intended;

when trying to type quickly you notice your missing a few letters as the keypad i received straight out the box doesn't input properly which i found really annoying , the fix was to undo the tiny screws on the back and open it up , i assured the foam keys was properly pushed in, i noticed a few tiny bits of plastic fall out ( could of been my problem) made sure nothing was interfering with the connections , put it back together tightened all screws and wallah no more hard pressing of keys feels good now , still i only give it 3 stars as the build quality is pretty cheap and this issue will probably happen again as debree builds up .

Works fantastic on my elite 2 controller nice and bright backlight and keys are soft to press would highly recommend this product to any Xbox gamer

Easy to connect to controller. Feels solid little keyboard. Love the green lights on the keys. No more fiddling with onscreen keyboards.

Here is what I did to setup the device for use with my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. - Ensured the xbox controller was fully updated via the Xbox accessories app on the Xbox. - Turned the controller off. - Plugged in the chatpad until it made a good solid connection. (It does not click into place) - Plugged the 2.4GHz receiver into the Xbox. - Turned on the controller (the chatpad lit up solid green) and immediately pressed the sync button on the chatpad. - Tested the chatpad in game and it is working perfectly. ---------------------------------------- Now, onto the functionality in game. This chatpad is a literal USB keyboard. I bought this because I started playing Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV). My hope was that this chatpad could act as extra inputs for regular hotbars alongside the controller cross-bars. I disabled the direct chat setting in-game and setup a hotbar on-screen. I then setup the keybinds on the chatpad that I wanted for the hotbar. Finally, I added the actions I wanted by using the virtual mouse to drag the actions to the hotbar. It works perfectly! I now have all the general actions I need set to the hotbar and bound to the chatpad. Meanwhile all my crossbars are setup for combat. It also still has the regular keybinds for keyboard, this allows me to still quickly use the chatpad for chat by pressing enter on the chatpad and typing out my message. --------------------------------------- The negatives. - The chatpad construction feels sturdy but while inserted into the controller it does have a slight flex if you press with a decent amount of force on the sides of the chatpad. As long as you don't slam down on the chatpad with a ton of force it should be ok. - It is going to decrease the battery life of the controller but not by much. The chatpad draws 40mA while the keyboard is lit but the backlight turns off after 6 seconds of no use. It also draws an extra 0.8mA when a button is pressed. Not enough to worry about for me. - The button inputs are momentary. You can't walk around continuously while using WASD input. That may be an issue for some users who want that. Overall, these negatives are not enough to be an issue to me. For some these may be dealbreakers. -------------------------------------- This chatpad is amazing for the price. I can see myself using it for a long time. I will update this review if I have any issues with it or if it stops working.

I have only had it for a little over 24 hours but it works great so far! Love it! I just have a couple of gripes. - I don't like how the only thing keeping it still is the connection to the controller. Every time I push a button, I can feel it bending the connection. Though, I don't think there is a fix for this unless you want a massive attachment. - It does not feel durable and will last long. For one, cheap plastic. - Sometimes it won't register your inputs and other times it will overdo like pressing "f" and getting ffff I use it on the original 1st gen Xbox one controller. All in all, 20$ for this, assuming it lasts at least half a year, is fine. So, 15$ more isn't the worst.

Sehr einfach anschließbar. Tasten funktionieren ohne das man darauf zu fest drücken muss und die Beleuchtung am Abend ist super, nicht zu hell und nicht zu dunkel. Kann es nur empfehlen. Bin sehr zu Frieden. Preis Leistung ist super!!!

Parfait ! Solide la qualité est présentes pour le prix c’est donner !! Pratique et surtout bien adapter pour l’utilisation de la manette à la main je penser que sa aurai était gênant mais parfait pour jouer avec ce clavier rétro éclairant !
