Good flavor but not potent enough
While it had a good flavor, it was less potent than I was hoping for. I used it in a couple spice blends and had to double the amount for the flavor to show through.

Delightfully bitter
I needed this ingredient for an Indian dish. This spice is delightfully bitter. Until now, I thought this term was an oxymoron. However, it is a perfect complement to an okra and a roasted potato recipe cooked in an air fryer oven.

Very Nice
Added it to potato curry and it gave it the right amount of tang, but not too overpowering. Great spice for giving that something to your dish that you always feel is missing but can't put your finger on.

Fresh taste
I use amchur powder in all sorts of cooking, not just Indian style. I like its subtle tartness compared to the intensity of vinegar or even citrus. With that said, yes, there are differences in amchur. And I'm really pleased with this TAJ brand. It has a bright, fresh, super citrusy aroma and taste compared, at least, to the last brand that I bought. Other amchurs are more earthy; this one is, again, bright and fresh. I also like the large size bag. Due to its delicacy and fairly rapid loss of strength, I do recommend storing excess amchur in a cool place. The freezer is best for the long haul but I keep even my current, in-use, jar in the refrigerator to preserve its freshness. TAJ brand is good stuff.

Pleasantly sour, as always. :-)
What would you expect dehydrated, powdered, immature mango taste like? Like this product, of course! Why substitute with lime juice, etc., when you can get the real thing?
