AirTech Precision-Fit Recoil Pad for Wood Stocks

I was skeptical about the claims that "up to 70%" of "felt recoil" would be reduced by using the LimbSaver. My Marlin 444 generates about 2800 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle and it can offer quite a sharp jolt at the other end as well. But the original recoil pad was worn out and so I took a chance on this recoil pad. Amazing! Remarkable! Wonderful! I can't say what the percentage of reduction in recoil was, but it was substantial and it was comfortable and it was much appreciated. The LimbSaver is a perfect fit to the rifle and it was easy to install. I am absolutely delighted with this product and enthusiastically recommend it to others who want to reduce the felt recoil of their rifles. It is well worth the modest price.

First, to remove the pad from the Remington Express 12-gauge, use a Phillips #2. Online they say to use a #1, this is dead wrong. Lube the screw driver shaft, and carefully engage the screwdriver. Wiggle the screw driver once engaged in the screw to free any debris in the drive for the screw. My screw had come crud in the drive once I removed it. The fit was not precision to the stock, this part is slightly wider and the end at the bottom of the stock stuck out maybe an 1/8" or more. I have not shot the rifle, but wanted folks to know what I know so far.

I really liked that this pad fit my walnut Remington V3 perfectly! It was easy to install and get the fit to the stock to be near seamless. It maintains the heel and toe lines properly. I primarily bought this pad because I was trying to reduce the length of pull on my Remington V3 from the factory 14 5/8 to 14 1/4-14 3/8 inch. This pad brought it down to exactly 14 3/8 inch which is dead-solid-perfect for me. The only negative to date (I have not yet shot with it installed) is that the pad surface itself is very tacky and sticky feeling. I noticed it immediately when I removed it from its package. I am hoping that either will improve over time or I may have to address with some clear fingernail polish or black electricians tape. My concern is that the gun will "hang up" some when mounting which is a no-no. I have placed a call to Limb Saver to see what they recommend. I doubt they will have much to advise in that area. The stickiness is why I rated it as 4 stars. I am sure it will handle recoil well so not worried about that.

This pad worked great on my Benelli Super Vinci synthetic stock using the plate adapter supplied! My Benelli already was great at reducing kick, but let me tell you... it was a pure joy shooting a 3.5 inch turkey load today! I was so different I decided to waste five more dollars and shoot another round to see if it just seemed less because of adrenaline! NO!!! The turkey load felt like a dove load! When I can, I will replace my other pads on various shotguns! AMAZING!

I replaced the recoil pad that came on the wood stock Gordion with the Airtech 10800. Felt recoil is noticeably reduced, and feels more like a 'push' rather than the sharp jolt. The fit is good, but required a small adjustment to one of the screw hole locations on the new pad. The screw hole on the wider end is approximately 1/4" from the wood stock screw hole. I used the Gordion mounting plate as a template to mark a point for drilling a screw hole in the Airtech pad. The Airtech mount came out great with that adjustment. I'm very happy with the change and the cost was realistic.

Doesn't reduce recoil as well as it claims although it does help. Screw holes did not line up but I elongated the holes with a Dremel and it works
