Took apart, can’t get back together
The performance of this chopper was great however I took it apart (took the blades out for cleaning) and now can’t get it back together. It is now unusable and worthless.

Awkward to hold but chops GREAT
This is a fantastic little chopper for quickly chopping a small quantity of walnuts or peanuts, but not for chopping large quantities because it is so hard to hold. As other reviewers have mentioned, the top untwists in your hand while you are chopping and the barrel is too small to get a good grip on. There are two little buttons the side that I think are supposed to lock the top in place, but they don't work - it just untwists. The blades are powerful and will easily chop almonds if you can find a way to hold it still without cramping your hand, but I wouldn't want to chop more than about 1/4 cup that way. This design flaw is really a shame, because otherwise it is a great little chopper. I particularly like the fact that both end cups pop off, making it easy to clean. The design is perfectly symmetrical, so you can load the nuts into either end cup. If you want to make a second pass on chopping, just turn the unit upside down and chop back the other way. But the nuts we have tried so far chopped perfectly in one pass - small but not pulverized and quite even in size. The compact size makes it easy to store and quick to grab and use. Soft nuts like walnuts grind so easily that you don't even have to set the chopper on a surface - you can just hold it in your hand. However, it is not suitable for heavy-duty chopping.

Best nut grater.
If you wish to grind nuts this is a very good tool. Easy to clean and grinds nuts to smaller grains. If you wish even smaller grain of nuts, regrind the nuts two times. Well worth the cost.

Not Your Best Choice
This unit has several problems: *the knob fell off the handle immediately and there appears to be no way to get it to say on and in place, * unit has be to inverted to load nuts which is OK until you want to add some more to a batch in process, *the bottom unscrews as you are trying to turn the grinder handle - its necessary to put about 200 pounds of pressure on the unit to hold it steady.

Durability issues
The handle broke after 6 weeks of daily use. I ground only a handful of nuts at a time, including shelled pistachios, walnuts, cashews, almonds, and sacha Inchi seeds. A couple of times, the teeth/blades bent, but were fixable with pliers. This is the 3rd nut chopper that has failed for me. I’m trying an OXO chopper now. So far, so good.

Best nut chopper ever.
Cuts nuts into fairly even pieces. Difficulty of use will depend on hardness of nut. Walnuts or pecans are fairly soft, peanuts or almonds a little harder. Unlike electric models (fine for spices, so so for things like coffee) the blades in this device basically make one pass rather than turning nuts into paste. A food processor can make nut butters but it does not produce anything remotely uniform in finished size. Also found this useful for chopping chocolate, which might melt in electric machines.
