FUN FUN FUN!
I have to give this workout 5-Stars! Let me preface by saying I used to be quite the workout girl! But that was 13 or so years ago. Since then, I've been HORRIBLE! Lots of life changes, etc. ANYWAY..when I saw one of the founders/instructors on Live with Kelly (with Jim Parsons "Sheldon" from Big Bang Theory) it looked like so much fun! Clearly there were LOTS of squats involved but the drumsticks seemed to offer a great distraction. They got me! A couple days later I ordered POUND and it has sat in my den/exercise room until TODAY! I cracked open the box to find a great recipe book! Lots of delicious food in there! Then I thought, 'if not now..when?!" and popped in the DVD. When I saw it was 30-minutes I didn't think I would make it through and thought "do what you can..it's a start"..WOW! Time flew by so quickly that it was over before I knew it! THIS IS TOO FUN! I did DVD 2 (DVD 1 is the intro explaining the moves) and when I was done my legs were like Jell-o! I've only done the one workout so I can't speak for the others but what I can say is that based on my noodle feeling legs I can honestly say I think I'll be a bit sore tomorrow! I do wish they had more stretches for the glutes and adductors (thankfully I know a few) though. Nonetheless, the workout is fun and the drumsticks ARE a great distraction. I like that they show modifications for every move. I found the 1-arm planks especially challenging with the tapping of the drumsticks to the side, front, etc. but then I haven't worked out in over a decade so that's to be expected. One day I will be able to do them and then I'll KNOW this workout has made a difference.I also liked that the gals leading the workout (sorry ladies..I don't recall your names) were having fun. They weren't too serious or over-scripted, just good friends having fun with their workout..no different than my friends and I were at the gym so I enjoyed their playfulness. One reviewer (who reviewed only one of the DVD's) commented that Instructors seem to think a lot of themselves. I TOTALLY disagree! I didn't get that impression at all! Like I said, clearly these two are friends, having fun and making money doing it! I say GOOD FOR THEM! Making money, making people feel good and having fun at the same time! What a great job!I'm happy I bought the set when I did because I see it's no longer available here. I paid a bit less here and didn't have to pay shipping. It's a bit more on their site..but the workout is fun and worth it! :)Next Day Pain Follow-up: While I'm a little bit sore..it's a good kind of sore. I know that I'll be able to do another POUND workout tomorrow. I believe this is due to the fact that I took time to do the cool down and added extra stretching on my own. It could have been much worse had I not done that. My adductors, hamstrings, glutes and yep! even my biceps have a bit of muscle soreness but not not so much that I can't go about day to day tasks.

Pounding Like a Boss!
It is my understanding that this type of workout has been around since 2014, but I am just now finding out about it. It's fun, exhilarating, motivating and highly-effective. I honestly felt like I could see and feel a difference in my body from the very first workout. I think it is age-appropriate for most people, considering you're an already fit person. I'm 63, and I don't struggle at all with any of these Pound workouts!

I love these dvds
I love the fact that there are a couple of dvds for all parts of your body to tone. The only problem I have is I do not like the music, but thats okay because you have a choice to turn the music off, which I do, and I can listen to the instructors on what to do and how to do it. Well worth the money

Pound is a fun workout (although better live); included recipe book is awesome
I found pound at Crunch Fitness when I lived in LA. You had to sign up for the class ahead of time and they would run out of sticks because the classes were so packed (so I ended up buying my own to bring). The live classes were much more fun than the videos, I think because of the music. At the gym, the instructors would play fun current or popular hit songs really loud. In the videos, it’s more focused on instruction than the music, even though they have options for music only –see below.*I can’t attest to results for this disc set because I bought this while pregnant because I am considering being an instructor post pregnancy (they have instructor training classes) so I am not doing the exercises to the full capacity. Will update post pregnancy. The 5 disc set is a 60 day program; the method relies upon constant arm movement in sync with the beat which activates the entire body throughout the full duration of the workout. Secret revolves around stabilization and balance just like in yoga or Pilates (from insert).Disc 1: Pound 101 (10 min)- Drum sticks called Ripstix. Pound method all about low weight, high reps and constant movement. Moving drumsticks all in the wrists. Grip an inch or 2 up on stick. Thumbs up like holding a remote. Roll back shoulders, tuck in elbows.Single tap - squat, hit drumsticks on ground. Double tap on ground. Signature move – pounding - squat, pounding along ground. If need to modify, take it off the ground.4 Major Positions (home base)-1) Set Position – named after a drum set. Feet a little wider than shoulder width apart. Soft knees. Tuck tummy in. straight line up body. Roll back shoulders. Tuck elbows. Plié and do rainbows – strike to left, hit in center, to the right. If need modification, take strike off the ground.2) Lunge one leg in front (alt sides) – don’t want to bring knee in front of toe. Modify – bring strike pattern off ground or come down on knee.3) T&A (Thighs and backside)- over the head thrust; as lift, strike on either side of ankle. Vertebrae by vertebrae. Adjust – don’t come up as much. If want to challenge self, stay 1-2 inches off mat.4) Kit Position – named after a drum kit. Sitting with legs straight out. Exhale slowly and bring chest back into letter C. Obliques guide from left to right. Legs glued together so that legs don’t wiggle. Can modify and cross legs. Base kick – kick up right leg, then left using breath to guide. Can envision pulling.5) Bonus: Plank – 1 time throughout workout. If need to modify, drop knees down to mat.Discs have 4 options for voice & music mix, voice only, music only (their voices are muted so a bit odd since you can see lips moving) and music boost (not really sure what the difference was from voice & music mix). Music isn’t that fun since they can’t play popular songs like a live class can.Disc 2 (Topline or Upper Body 30 min and Bassline or Lower Body 30 min)Disc 3 (Poundcore Workout 30 min – Abs & Tune Up – 30 min)Disc 4 (Jam Session – live pound class 40 min)Disc 5 (Tempo Tone 8 min arms, Ab Encore 8 min ab, Bum n Bass 8 min bum, Sweat Solo – 3 breathless rounds of plyometric riffs, HTS – Hit The Streets – says go outside for 30 min or more dancing, hiking, biking or any cardio/conditioning group fitness class).Food Guide – this exceeded my expectations and is better than that highly rated cookbook “Oh She Glows” – whose recipes definitely don’t make you glow. They base it on the word “Balance”: Meal 1 (Boost), Meal 2 (Awaken/Breakfast), Meal 3 (Level/Snack), Meal 4 (Activate/Lunch), Meal 5 (Nourish/Snack), Meal 6 (Celebrate/Dinner), Meal 7 (Equalize/Dessert). Includes a grocery list and tips for those new to clean eating. And has at least 5 recipes for each meal, which are awesome recipes. Ex: Meal 1 (Cider Boost, Coco Chia Boost Strawberry Boost, Banana Boost, Vita Boost); Meal 2 (3 Sisters Granola, 3 different Parfaits, 3 different omelets, avocado toast, sweet potato waffles); Meal 3 (4 smoothies, apples and cinnamon, chia pudding, 2 nut mixes); Meal 4 (3 salads, 5 dressings, summer rolls, hummus wrap); Meal 5 (Lettuce Cups, Hummus, Guac, Almond Butter, 6 juices); Meal 6(2 soups, 2 salads, 2 kabobs, 3 bowls, tacos); Meal 7 (teas, berries & cream, protein balls, parfait). There’s a 7 day kick start example meal program. I would buy a cookbook of the recipes listed in here since they are healthy and tasty. Definitely wasn’t expecting this to be included in a workout DVD set so this was a nice surprise (I love recipes).Comes with fitness guide and journal which gives info on program, discs and has 60 day journal to write each of your 7 meals, fill out water consumption, sleep, any extra workouts and how you are feeling.

You will see results. . .
After a year long, ugly divorce, I had gained some weight and wasn't feeling that good about myself. I saw this on Amazon, bought it, read it, and decided to commit to it. I'm on day 40, I've lost 22lbs, and I feel MUCH better. I have altered the recipes just a little (as they encourage), like using chicken broth instead of vegetable broth, and also using fish instead of coconut bites. The receips are good, and they are portioned where you are not meal prepping all the time. The workout is fun. I started working out with a 20lbs weight vest on, just to build some muscle, now that I've lost all the weight. I would recommend this to anyone.

Incredibly disappointing!
This is a waist of money! If you are a beginner and what to know they position this would be great, but I was looking for a workout video not an instructional video. The music did not match any of the beats and it was nothing you could "pound" out to. The only good thing about this kit it the strike sticks are very thick and nice. Other than that save your $70 and buy drumsticks and make your own workout!

Pas de musique avec les séances
Je croyais qu'il y aurait de la musique entraînante accompagnant les séances. Cependant, super effectives ! Juste très décue ppur le prix payé
