Pyramex Ztek Safety Glasses ANSI Z87+

This thing is $3 and yet has passed Z87.1+ and Z94.3, very impressive. Seems to be able to stop a rogue bullet fragment. The color looks cool but also doesn’t affect vision. Very functional and great price, durable as hell, one of the best eyewear you could get

Perfect for eye protection at the shooting range, and you can wear them so the "arms" are above your ears and don't interfere with your hearing protection. And the price is unbelievable. A solid 10, but I can only give them a 5!

Comfortable

I purchased this item for a home demolition project in which a bunch of friends and family members were coming over to help rip some walls and ceilings down. I was buying many pairs at one time to make sure that everyone was protected, and so I needed something affordable. I was initially not going to look into this item because of its "Add On" status as opposed to immediately qualifying for Prime shipping. However when I looked into the actual details of that, I realized I was already ordering enough that they were going to ship for free anyway. Overall I was pleased with the comfort of the glasses and their ability to protect my eyes. I did get some bits of plaster in my eyes from time to time, though this was generally when a chunk of it had fallen on my head. I could also see through them fairly well and didn't notice distortion per se. I chose to give them 4 stars instead of 5 because I think the plastic could be a little more clear and because they don't protect as completely as more of a goggle design might, but for the price I do think they are a very good item. I was also impressed by their sturdiness; when my package arrived in the mail, the box was crushed in from several sides but none of the glasses were damaged. I also found a pair on the floor at the end of our demo day that was potentially dropped, stepped on, covered with building materials, etc. but still no sign of damage.

Last year I purchased 10 pairs of safety glasses. The Ztek scored in the top 3 in every category I tested for. How could the cheapest, simplest glasses perform so well? Well, they fit my face like a glove. Every curve, swoop, and bend perfectly mirrors the front of my face, leaving exactly 3mm of spacing between my face and the glasses... at every point. The glasses curve up and around the cheek bones instead of just trying to go in front of them. They curve down to cover the nose, where large gaps normally exist. These have become my driving glasses, I can cruise at 35 mph without the slightest hint of wind in my eyes. And of course that means it has excellent shrapnel protection as well. The nose bridge is unibody molded plastic, which is great. Rubber nose brides are difficult to get right. Some manufacturers skimp out and make them too small, others rely on them to hold the glasses in place. They are commonly sweat magnets. Every pair of glasses I've ever worn without rubber nose pads, the Ztek included, have proven that they are totally unnecessary. Besides, molding the front from a single piece of plastic gives the Ztek significant style points. They're the proper height-to-width ratio, but the clear variant turn practically invisible when worn. Yes of course they are still reflective, but the point is that there's no ugly black nose bridge to break up the flow. The rubber on the arms are far enough back to blend in with your hair. Oh yeah, the arms are great, to! they're thin and match the coloration of the lenses, and have a grainy texture that swoops into the front (not into your field of view, of course.) The ends are rubber tubes. They can be pulled off, but they're glued in place so don't do that. Very flexible, and they do a good job of keeping the glasses on your head. They crushed my headphones test, where I listened to my favorite album and tried to see if I could notice a difference. The only notes I wrote down for the Ztek was "perfect". They will not provide an air-tight seal, so they will not be good for noise-reduction headphones, (no glasses will) but they don't get in the way of your sound. Final thoughts: while Pyramex didn't attempt to revolutionize anything in the Ztek, they clearly spent a lot of time and effort getting the most basic design into what may be its most perfect form. I did rank Sperian A800 series higher overall, but the Ztek were cheaper when I got them and now the A800 aren't even being sold individually on Amazon. Anti-fog note: my anti-fog testing (wearing a covid mask and walking around on a cold night) was too intense for even the best anti-fog protection. I do not have good data to rank the glasses.

Nice safety glasses. All around best deal for the quality. Comfortable. Vision is clear. They’re actually pretty light.

Short Version: Do not buy these if you're trying to improve your sleep cycle by blocking blue light-- they're ineffective. After reading a few positive reviews about the ability of these orange glasses to block/filter blue light, I decided to purchase a pair. While these glasses make everything appear orange, I was a bit disappointed to discover that their ability to filter blue light is very limited. Blue lights, such as the one in my picture, are supposed to appear dull and grayish when viewed through a lens that filters blue light. I know this because I've purchased the Uvex Skyper Blue Light Blocking Computer Glasses with SCT-Orange Lens and they were fantastic at blocking blue light. The only downside is that I found them uncomfortable; they have a protective lip on the bottom of the lenses which dug into my big cheeks. That said, these glasses are fairly comfortable for being all plastic and they DO seem to filter a TINY amount of blue light. But to be honest, I think wearing sunglasses would do a better job filtering blue light than these. I'm extremely surprised at the reviews claiming that the glasses improve sleep quality by filtering blue light. If you're going to wear orange glasses around the house every evening, you might as well choose a pair that actually work.

Blue light being emitted by your computer is an issue at night because you will be going to bed later. By using the orange tinted goggles, you are able to cutout the blue light effectively. Therefore, you will be able to go to sleep later instead finding yourself unable to do so. I like these so much, I bought 2 pair. Price is right and they effectively SLIDE OVER my existing glasses. Just be careful when you clean them, because they are PLASTIC and will scratch easily. EXCELLENT QUALITY for the price.
