DIRECTV CCK-W Wireless Cinema Connection Kit (DCAW1R0-01)

Came on time and with all the stuff..not sure why I got to remotes with it. Relatively easy to connect but turns out I could not receive Pandora/Youtube on all TVs despite the wireless connection. Only the TV that has the DVR hooked up can get the internet. Took 3 days and 3 techs to figure that out. They sent me a wireless DVR with the new minis...cost me a new 2 year agreement. But everything is working as advertised...just don't need the wireless connection...so if you want whole house capability..forgoe the wireless connection kit and get the latest DVR with integrated wireless receiver from DTV.

This was very easy to set up. Frankly it did all the work on its own. And of course my DSL modem/router found it immediately and away it went! I previously tried a wired device which I never could get to work! This was cheaper and much more convenient. I recently had to replace the DSL modem do to a power surge and the new Modem connected to this immediately.

I may have received a faulty unit, but it's being returned today. My unit constantly lost connectivity (not due to wifi signal strength) and attempted to reboot itself. Often, a hard reboot (unplugging and replugging the power source) was required and I'd have to "reconnect" via the DirecTV HD DVR's "Settings". Downloading one hour of programming required six reboots. Based on the amount of additional content this unit provided, I'm not going to order a replacement. I gave it 5 days and that was enough to discover it wasn't worth the extra effort required. Product Function Note: Playback of downloaded/streamed content blocks the fast-forward and skip-forward functions. If commercials bother you, this may be important.

I used this for a single tv in my camper. I have a WiFi access point outside, it was a little more difficult to connect than expected as for some reason the access point was not showing up on the list of available connections. It worked fine by manually entering the information. We are using a directv reciever hr24 that does not have internet capability and our tv does not have internet either, making doing anything on 'demand' not to work or accessing streaming. The install was rather easy but came without any type instructions. Information is easily available on the internet. I got the open box version and the base was missing and one of the cables and no instructions, it was however much cheaper and works good. If you put this inline with your outside satellite as shown in multiple receivers, it will work much better than attempting to do the single TV method (never got it to work on single). Directv kinda frowned when I called for help, they don't offer it anymore and dont support it either. All their new Genie receivers have wifi built in now and want you to upgrade.

When I received my new DirecTV HD receiver, I thought the USB port functionality was operational but it isn't. I wanted the ability to exercise the full functionality of the receiver. I called DirecTV and they wanted me to purchase this wireless connection kit from them for twice what I paid for it on Amazon (how crazy is that?!?!). The box works wonderfully! I can now view OnDemand shows, listen to Pandora, log onto Facebook AND keep up with my fantasy football teams all from the comfort of my bedroom!

I love that Directv got with the program a while back and got on demand service. However, they wanted to charge me 100 bucks for the wireless connection kit. I said no thank you. Well a year later I happened to stubble upon the product on amazon and purchased it for more than 50 percent off and super quick shipping. So way better deal if you ask me. The set up was quick and easy. I will say the learning curve was a bit hard as for learning how to actually find the on demand shows. I mean the free ones. It was plenty easy to find what they wanted to charge you for. But once I got the hang of it, it was just like using cable or fios on demand service.

I was able to configure it... used my IT knowledge and went inside of it to manually assign an IP address. Wont work because Puerto Rico is served out of DirecTV Latin America and they don't offer Cinema nor On-Demand...sucks i know!! I tried to subscribe to DirecTV USA for streaming services but once I go and provide my billing address it won't allow it. I wish we, as customers, would be able to choose who do i want to do business with specially with streaming services which i don't care where to content is coming from. With DirecTV Latin America we get obsolete equipment which i believe they bought after US decommissions it and blast a new firmware into it which disables lots of functionality. Ex. my DVR won't recognise the Cinema Kit but if you go manually to configure it buttons have been disabled.

Saved a lot of money buying this through Amazon. Fast installation with easy instructions (and I am not a young IT person). When I read some of the reviews about how hard it was to install, I was a little worried I would not be able to install it. The instructions were easy to follow and it works great. Great product at great price!
