I probably got lucky
Several reviews (with pics) have mentioned or shown how these (primarily handles) have uneven manufacturing/quality control. I have a co-worker who also bought from Amazon and got a pair where the handles were quite crooked. My pair came about 90% even so I'm pretty satisfied with them compared with the bad pics and my co-worker's. I don't know why, but I find these single hinge tongs easier to use than the ones with dual/compound hinges. They do the job pretty well and have held up (I've seen an old-timer take a similar but different brand up a ladder instead of a hammer; I've followed his example a few times) with no signs of damage after some 9 months.

Midwest is the best.
All Midwest tools are slightly heavy, even the red handled siding snips, but they do the job well. I usually wear a toolbelt and then I have a Klein bucket to keep the heavier items near me. I've been buying Midwest for many years and will continue!

Maybe not the best value but for sure the best tool
When I received these in the mail I was really impressed by how well-built they were. Very heavy duty, thick cast jaws. Long handles to be able to apply a lot of clamping pressure. Definitely a nice tool, and made in the US. They surely cost a little bit more because they are made in this country… But you know that when you order them. I was willing to pay a little bit more because of that to get a quality tool and I was OK with it but I realize that the value for money is not quite there so I didn’t subtract one star. I don't have enough words to say how amazing, well made, heavy duty this tool is. Not the first I bought, everyone ask to use at work. Honestly, anything from Midwest is high end. Strongly recommend!
