OrthoHome Defense MAX Insect Killer Granules, 2.5-Pound (Ant, Spider, and Centipede Killer)

This stuff is amazing and works as exactly as advertised. I can't praise it enough. I would give it six stars if I could! We moved into our mid-century home in early spring 2014. Everything was wonderful until the weather started to warm up and then we were invaded by huge centipedes and to a lesser extent pill bugs. The centipedes bothered me the most. I could live with seeing one, once a week, but our basement was overrun by these pests and we started seeing them upstairs on a daily basis. We tried a non chemical approach that had no impact. The final straw was the day that one jumped on my head from the ceiling, ran down my neck, and into my shirt. I took this vicious, unprovoked attack as declaration of war! I immediately started spraying with Ortho home defense indoor spray.This did a good job but I still had to deal with their dead bodies and we would still see them more than we would like.Winter came and we saw no more centipedes but I was sure they would come back. I did a fair amount of research and decided I needed to stop them before they came into the house. I spoke with a big name pest control company who told me that the centipedes had huge nests in my walls and were breeding like crazy. Uh...no. That isn't the way that it works with centipedes according to my research. At that point I started researching home solutions and kept coming up with great reviews for the Ortho home defense MAX granules.Spring came around again. It started to warm up and sure enough my enemy arrived. After a huge jump in centipede sightings we used the Ortho granules as directed around the foundation of the house. Within a day we had fewer sightings. It has now been almost a month and we haven't seen a centipede in weeks. We also no longer see pill bugs. It has been wonderful.Given other reviews I read I will probably sprinkle the granules around the foundation of the house ever two months during the summer months instead of every three months like the product's directions suggest. It is pretty easy to do and worth the extra effort not to have to deal with the creepy crawlies.

Not sure about the kind of ants I have but it sure does take care of them quickly. I have a small orchard which is loaded with holes in the ground because of the ants. You can hardly stop for a minute without them crawling up your legs. I have tried a goodly number of products which did not work. Then I bought this.............a wonderful find! It had rained the evening before I applied the granules so I just broadcast them around the holes and here and there. Came back in the afternoon and the numbers had dwindled. Came back the end of the next day and I had to look to find a few. I am truly happy with this ant eliminator and in fact I am ordering more today. As I mentioned, do not know what kind of ants they are but they make small holes in the ground. They seem to have a hole at their front door and one at the back door. Highly recommend!

I hate spraying so . I have so many chemicals and I figured cross utilizing bug concoctions would be better then not . So when this was on sale I bought two bottles . I have a 960 sq foot house and that is being generous . I was rather conservative making my two foot perimeter around the house and it covered 2/3 per bottle . So if your ordering this I would keep that in mind . two times coverage for a 2000 sq foot seems like a pipe dream unless I did something wrong . It says make a two foot wide perimeter . I watered it and did put it down on areas where the porch or sidewalk came up to the doors because you need to protect them too . It didn't stay on the concrete well though it is brown and leaves a residue you can see . It does work , within a hour of being put on a few live ant nests ( sugar ants ) they were clearly disrupted but mine are pretty weak from having been bombarded with round up ( drive way cracks ) . I will add more to this later but my initial thoughts are this was a good investment at the sale price I paid but covers way less then what they say . In the future it may work if I put down a single band but not one that is 2 foot wide . So be warned buy at least twice what they recommend to make that two foot wide perimeter .This is the best insecticide I have found on Amazon and wanted to supplement it to create a broader spectrum multi step approach like the pro's do . It must be sprayed . My last layer is termite stakes .Cy-Kick CS Controlled Release Cyfluthrin 16oz Insecticide ( I hear at least one major company uses this on calls for pest control )

PLEASE, ITS SPRING AND THEY WILL BE BACK. I NEED MORE GRANUALS RIGHT AWAY AND ITS SAYING CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE HOME DEFENSE, PLEASE AMAZON, I NEED MORE SO THE CENTIPEDES DON'T GET INTO MY HOME. This product was easy to use. And did the job. It's extremely difficult to find ANY centipede poison here in Hawaii. This is my only option, to buy here on Amazon.

I needed a granular product that would kill ants in my herb and flower beds. This really does the job. Just a light sprinkling and the ants take off. They pull the grains down into their nest and - poof - they die. Works fast, is scent-free, easy to sprinkle from the handy spout that re-closes securely. I am 100% pleased.
