Best 10-port USB 3.0 Hub!
This has been the best USB 3.0 Hub I have used.I love this Plugable USB 3.0 Hub because:1) Enough hub chipsets. You need 1 chipset per 4 ports in order to have maximum compatability with USB 3.0 and to avoid port conflicts. Other manufacturers use only one chipset per hub and past 4 ports this is not enough - particularly for Macs which can be more picky about USB hub compatibility. Plugable gives you enough or more than enough chipsets. The HUB10C2 features three internal VIA Labs VL812 B2 USB 3.0 hub chipsets.2) A high enough power plug. Many manufacturers skimp on the power plug. This means your computer has to supply a lot of power to the plug. But this limits the number of hard drives you can use on the hub. Plugable gives this hub a high power 48 watt power plug. This gives each of the 10 ports 4.8 watts of power - at 5 volts, this is 0.96 amps - well over the 0.9 amp minimum rating for USB 3.0.I have Plugable's 7 port USB 3.0 hub with 2 charging ports and it's high power 7 port USB 3.0 hub - where all ports can be high charging. But This 10-port hub is the best. Unfortunately the high power 7 port USB 3.0 hub has a power switch. When the power goes off, this power switch has to be manually triggered or the hub doesn't work. The 10-port hub has NO switch - which is great! It automatically turns on after power outages.

Avoid this product!
Bought one of these on April 29th. I started to get error messages on my computer about this hub using too much power. Then it just quit.I am not impressed. Paid $50 and it lasted 3 months. NOT a good deal

Runs Hot and disconnectes your hard drives.
Not sure why mine get hot. The smell of something burning is coming from mine. At first when I plugged the power to it, the blue light came one. A few min's later it had no power and the blue power light on top of the unit was off. I had to unplug it and plug it back in. The power came on? Not sure if I have a bad one. Last night I notice a strong smell of something burning. When I got to the hub, it was hot and the smell was coming from it.It comes with a very BIG adaptor, power unit. Wow, bigger then my computer.Another thing I notice is my hard drives get disconnected and start again and put everything on my screen? This happens quite a bit. I am not happy for this. For the cost, I though I would be getting a very nice hub.

The most reliable and best-performing of the all such devices I've owned
The USB specification is very broad, and there's no central peer review that determines what you can call a "USB Port." You're thinking, "big deal, they're all the same." But they're not all the same. The difference is in the true power they reliably provide for the devices connected to the hub. Usually, it's not a big deal. USB devices are designed to work well within the range of the variable voltage provided by most commercial USB hubs. Of course, the more devices you connect to your hub, the more power you're asking of it, and the various devices on the other end will usually make due with what the hub generates. If the hub fails, or doesn't quite generate enough power for your devices, they will1) generate a "Device Not Recognized" error on your computer.2) simply not work, meaning you'll not see the mouse, keyboard, headset, or hard drive among your devices in Device Manager.3) work intermittently. If the hub doesn't quite generate enough power, the device, will work intermittently on your computer, for example, the USB hard drive will work for a few minutes, then stop working, then begin to work again4) worst-case scenario: The device breaks. Voltage spikes or deficits can kill a hard drive. It's happened to me - caused by plugging the USB hard drive into a Hub with a bunch of other devices, and not only did the USB drive not appear in Windows, it stopped working all together, because the Hub couldn't provide enough consistent power to power the device.I live in a place where it gets very cold, so I see this problem often. After I come back from a few days absence, my home is very, very cold. I turn on my computer, and sometimes, a USB mouse, keyboard or headset can't get enough juice via the motherboard to turn on - until the house warms up, and electricity can flow normally. Now, under such circumstances, I've had many USB hubs fail. They either can't generate enough voltage for my USB devices plugged into them, or they are not recognized by Windows, because my house is too darn cold. The Plugable 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub has always worked, even under adverse conditions. I've owned several, use them on several household computers, and it has always generated enough power to make all connected devices work.

it's one big hub
My last hub from this manufacturer lasted 7 years. But, one by the one, the usb ports grew fickled. But hey, it's been seven years and I deserve a new toy.My phone will charge, but not my Samsung tablets. So this is not a charging hub by any means.I like corded devices. So my mouse, keyboard and various flash drives are happyPro's: It has plenty of ports. Power supply is grounded. Power supply is remote, so no covering unnecessary outlets.Cons: Won't charge my tablets, trickle charge only It's ginormous, so it's not for travel or the minimalistic inclined. only one of the swival usb ports works. I will be contacting the seller after this review..so stay turned

Has A Power Micro Switch in Back - Good Unit
I have bought Plugable USB hubs before. This one I was afraid was DOA. Luckily, I have another one like it that I bought 3 years ago. Looking at the back left of the hub, I saw a small micro switch that IS NOT labeled. I took a paperclip and moved the switch the other way and the hub lit up!! I contacted Plugable customer support and it sounded like that they didn't have the switch documented, but they do now! So, if you buy one of these 3.0 hubs and it doesn't turn on, look for the switch. Yes, I would but this product again.

Power surges, kills attached devices
So, for about two or three months this hub worked great. I used it as a hub for my mouse, a flight joystick and to charge my phone. After the three month mark, the three right-side USB ports stopped working outside. This was annoying, but I could live with it.After a while, the scrollwheel on one mouse stopped working. This was always plugged in the hub, but I didn't think anything of it. Bought a new moues and moved on with life. After a while, the mouse button of the new mouse stopped working. I wondered how that'd even be possible, it was a brand new mouse after all. Oh well, I've lived with that too.Today, this hub damaged my iPhone 6 after Windows was kind enough to give me a repeated "POWER SURGE ON USB PORT" warning. It took me *this* long to realize that the USB hub, given enough time, will actually damage anything connected to it.So I'm out two mice and my iPhone 6 and that's just a big feels bad. But hey, at least it hasn't burned my house down. Don't get this, avoid any other pluggable products, and ALWAYS heed those 1-2 people who have massive issues with a USB Hub -- because I ignored those people and look where it got me.Stay safe.

Pretty satisfied
Another great plugable product. I already owned the 7-Port USB hub... it shipped quickly and has 2 flip up ports designated for device charging.. although they work for syncing/data transmission as well. The ports are on both sides of the hub.. which i have no issue with, but it's a mess of cords when fully loaded. The only con I can find is that Unlike the 7-port hub, this one doesn't have an on/off button on it. I usually don't leave my hubs on all the time.. I had too many devices for the older plugable 7-port hub and now my new 10-port hub is pretty much fully loaded with usb devices (mostly external hard drives). I don't leave them plugged in all the time because when my iMac goes to sleep, they have a tendency to disconnect and this CAN potentially lead to data loss.. so i disconnect my drives and hub when not in use. I found the on/off switch more convenient than unplugging the hub, but as I said, the new 10-port hub doesn't have this option.Overall, I'm satisfied with this hub--it transfers data quickly and has it's own power supply (which spares it drawing from my iMac system), which I think is important when you have 5-10 devices plugged in frequently (I leave them plugged in because it's confusing to have unplugged cords hanging all over the place--and figuring out which one is which is another headache when I want to plug them in again).

I'd give them 10 Stars if I could.
Plugable is my first USB Hub. It has met all my expectations. However I want to talk about my buying experience. I order a lot from Amazon and have ordered many times from 3rd party dealers.Almost immediately; after purchasing my Plugable 3.0 10-Port USB Hub, I received an email from Plugable themselves. HUH! Never before have I been contacted by a third party dealer. I was thanked for my purchase and I was told I could correspond with them any time I had a question. WOW! Really?Well my Plugable arrived 3 days early. That gave me the weekend to play with it. Everything worked fine; but I did have questions. I emailed them and got a very quick email back. Very polite answering my question in language I understood. Well I had a couple of other questions. So on two more occasions I wrote them back. Remember this was my first hub. Both times receiving this very polite email and they answered my questions simply and factually.Guess what. Once again, they told me to contact them again with any question. I have never dealt with Plugable before; but they should be the template for all other companies to copy.A superior product; but most important an impressive company. I'm a Broadcaster and tend to be a little cynical. This company made me a believer. I give Plugable (the company) another 5 Stars. Thank you for your professionalism. I'll be dealing with you again. And no I don't have shares in the company.

Fantastique !

Excellent USB 3
Excellent USB 3.0 hub. Replaced a HooToo 4 port hub USB 3.0 hub and an older D-Link USB 2.0 hub that was failing. Love having so many ports. So far no issues with charging mulitiple iPhones and iPods simultaneously. Fast data transfer rates. Plug and forget, which is what I want! Would like to have a longer USB 3.0 data cable to connect to desktop PC, but just used another 6' cable I had with no problems. Power supply is a two-piece unit which is great -- the brick does not hog two power spots on your power bar.
