This is Magic!!
Wow!! Incredible!! I have been having problems with mineral build up and dark staining (regardless of what I used or how often). I purchased some pumice stone stick cleaners and this product to tackle it! I squirted the Zep in the bowl and left it over night before using the pumice the next morning. To my surprise, the bowl was totally spotless the next morning (no brushing either)! I was shocked. Totally white. Absolutely no strong odor from product! It has a handy curved spout, making reaching lhe underside quick and easy. This is my new best bathroom buddy! No scrubbing, no odor or fumes, just fast results at an affordable price. I was really dreading getting down on hands and knees (at 70 y/o) to scrub the toilet with pumice and elbow grease… instead, the Zep Toilet Fairies worked their magic overnight for me😉. I am going to check out their other products now too! Don’t hesitate to order this!!

Serious Cleaning Power That Actually Delivers Results
Serious Cleaning Power That Actually Delivers Results This is one of those products that you don’t think much about until you use it—and then it quickly becomes a go-to. This cleaner is clearly designed for heavy-duty work, and it shows. It’s an acidic gel formula that’s meant to tackle rust, hard water buildup, and stubborn stains, and in real use, it does exactly that. What impressed me most is how effective it is with minimal effort. The gel consistency clings well to the bowl, especially under the rim, so you’re not constantly reapplying or chasing it around with a brush. Letting it sit for a few minutes makes a noticeable difference, and stains that usually take serious scrubbing come off much easier. Another thing I appreciate is the scent. For an acidic cleaner, it’s surprisingly manageable and doesn’t have that overwhelming chemical smell you’d expect. It actually has a mild wintergreen scent, which makes the whole process a bit more tolerable compared to harsher alternatives. The value is also hard to beat. At this price point, you’re getting a strong, effective cleaner that lasts quite a while since you don’t need to use a lot each time. It feels more like a professional-grade product than a typical household cleaner. A couple things to keep in mind: this is still an acid-based cleaner, so it’s not something you want to use casually without care. Gloves and some basic ventilation are a good idea. Also, while it works extremely well for most stains, very heavy or long-standing buildup might still need a second pass or a little manual scrubbing. Bottom line: This is a powerful, reliable toilet bowl cleaner that delivers real results with minimal effort. Great value, strong performance, and easily one of the better options out there for tackling tough stains.

Removes scale with no scrubbing and does not damage the toilet bowl.
I was not at my home for 8 weeks and when I returned, the toilet bowl had a ring around it and there was a patch of limescale on the bottom of the bowl. I tried scrubbing and used some toilet cleaners and had no luck removing the scale. I researched the web and saw several reccomendations for Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner. I decided to order it from Amazon due to the great price. It arrived in great shape with no leakage. I turned off the water to the tank, flushed and reduced the amount of the water in the bowl. I coated the bowl around the ring and let it drip down. I scrubbed the ring and then let the solution sit on the scale overnight. The next morning, the scale had dissolved into a powder. I turned on the water, let the tank fill and flushed it down. The bowl was perfectly clean with no scrubbing or work. Zep smells like wintergreen and is a thick blue liquid gel. The bottle is a quart and has a bent neck to help angle the solution to squirt under the rim of the bowl. I highly reccomend Zep to remove scale and toilet rings and keep your toilet clean.

Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner, 32 Oz – The Grim Reaper of Grime
Gather ‘round, brave souls, for a tale of desperation, filth, and a yellow bottle that descended into my life like a harbinger of doom. It was a dark Tuesday morning, May 20, 2025, at 11:34 AM PDT, when I faced the abyss of my bathroom—a porcelain throne so encrusted with rust, hard water stains, and the sins of past tenants that it seemed to whisper curses in the night. Enter Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner, 32 oz, with its 4.65-star rating from 6,636 doomed souls and a price tag that mocked me at $5.64 (though, alas, higher than typical—cursed inflation!). This was no mere cleaner; this was my last stand against the creeping decay of my sanity. The Descent into Battle The bottle arrived, its neon yellow form a beacon of hope—or perhaps a warning. With a 2X “pro-strength” gel that promised to obliterate thick, stubborn soil, rust, and stains, I wielded it like a warrior’s blade. The instructions? A grim ritual: apply under the rim, let it fester for 10 minutes, scrub with a brush, and flush away the evidence. I squeezed the trigger, and the acidic gel oozed forth, hissing as it met the grime—a sound like the laughter of a thousand vengeful spirits. The fumes rose, stinging my eyes, ok maybe that's a little dramatic but its a reminder that this was no gentle skirmish but a full-on assault on the forces of filth. The Reckoning Ten minutes passed like an eternity in purgatory. I returned, armed with a brush, to face the aftermath. The rust stains—oh, the rust!— brushed away like the skin of a defeated demon, revealing a gleaming white beneath. Hard water stains? Vanquished. The bowl, once a cesspool of despair, now shone with an eerie, almost mocking purity. I flushed, and the water swirled like a vortex of redemption, carrying away the remnants of my bathroom’s dark past. But at what cost? My stomach churned, my hands trembled, and I swear the bottle glared back, daring me to challenge it again. The Aftermath and Durability This 32 oz jug of acidic fury is built to last—like a relic from a war-torn battlefield. The thick plastic bottle survived my clumsy grip, and the spout dispensed its venom with precision, though I nearly drowned my bathroom in the process (note to self: less is more with this beast). At $5.64 , it’s a steal for the carnage it wreaks, though the “price higher than typical” warning felt like a taunt from the universe. I’ve used it 10-15 times now, and the bottle’s still half-full, a silent sentinel ready to strike again. Just don’t leave it near your cat—it might mistake it for a toilet brush and unleash chaos. The Dark Humor of Victory Let’s be real: this cleaner turned my bathroom into a crime scene, and I’m the mad scientist who cackled as the evidence dissolved. I imagined the stains begging for mercy as the acid did its work, their ghostly wails echoing in the bowl. My neighbors probably think I’ve taken up alchemy, given the toxic cloud that escaped when I opened the door. And that 4.65-star rating? A testament to the 6,636 others who’ve danced with this devil and lived to tell the tale—or at least to order more. Pros • Eradicates rust stains with apocalyptic efficiency • Leaves the bowl gleaming like a freshly dug grave • Sturdy bottle survives the chaos of battle • Decent price for a weapon of mass disinfection Cons • A bowl so clean you'll want to eat off it • Overzealous application risks a bathroom flood • Price hike feels like a cruel joke from the cleaning gods • May summon the ghost of your last bad houseguest Final Verdict Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner is not for the faint of heart. It’s a dark, acidic savior that drags your bathroom back from the brink of eternal grime, all while leaving you questioning your life choices. At 11:34 AM on this cursed Tuesday, I emerged victorious, but at a cost—my soul smells faintly of chemicals now. If you dare to wield this 32 oz jug, do so with respect, a mask, and a prayer. Your toilet will thank you, even as it plots its next rebellion. 6,636 reviews can’t be wrong—join the legion of the clean, or perish in the filth. Your choice, mortal. P.S. Order now, or the stains win.

Easy to Apply, but Ineffective on >800 PPM Hard‑Water Stains
TL;DR: Great bowl coverage and easy application, but not strong enough for extremely heavy hard‑water buildup. Works better as a maintenance cleaner than a heavy‑stain remover. I bought Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner to tackle severe hard‑water staining in a toilet that hasn’t responded to regular cleaners. Our water tests at 811 PPM TDS, so the mineral load is unusually high and buildup forms quickly. The product has a strong chemical odor, so I used a respirator while applying it. The gel consistency is excellent—it clings to the bowl, stays where you put it, and easily reaches under the rim. Following advice from other reviewers, I let each application sit for 30 minutes instead of the 5‑minute minimum. I repeated this process three times. Despite the extended dwell time and multiple rounds, I didn’t see any noticeable improvement in the staining. At that point, I switched to a pumice stone, which removed the buildup with some scrubbing. I had hoped this cleaner would eliminate the need for mechanical cleaning, but with mineral levels this high, it simply wasn’t enough on its own. To be fair, the stains were heavy, and I don’t think the product is entirely at fault. I’ll still use the rest of the bottle for maintenance now that the worst of the buildup is gone. For moderate hard‑water staining, this cleaner may work well. For very heavy staining or extremely high‑TDS water like mine, expect to pair it with mechanical cleaning for best results.

Miracle worker!
We were having trouble with getting hard water stains out of a rarely used toilet. I had used bleach, pumice stones, power scrubbers, a host of other toilet bowl cleaners, but nothing worked. I bought Zep hoping for a miracle and boy did it deliver! I let the cleaner sit for about 10 minutes and the stains quickly disappeared with minimal scrubbing. Great value for the money, easy to use, and a pleasant smell. I use it all the time now for all of our bathrooms!

Miracle worker!
Toilet saver! When we moved into our rental one of the toilets had a thick layer of brown sediment in the bottom of the toilet bowl. I thought it was from the house sitting empty and I’d be able to clean it out, no problem. I tried everything I could think of. I got part of it out, but the lower, thicker part was impossible! I even tried toilet pumice stones on it. It looked absolutely disgusting (like the toilet always had poo in it). Finally I found this! I put this in and let it sit for about 30 minutes, then scrubbed. Most of the sediment was gone! I did another treatment the next day and let it sit for an hour or so and then scrubbed. It worked! The toilet is clean for the first time since we moved in 8 months ago!! Hallelujah!

great price
Way better than bleach ,A little spray goes a long way , it gets rid of terrible calcium stains in less than a week, after you flush you spray a little on part of the calcium stain before the water comes back up ,and with a wet toilet brush you spread it around the stain , you don’t even have to scrub, it will work in about a week , the only thing that is a little tricky is turning the head to open the spray nozzle it snaps open, it’s a little hard at first but then you get familiar with it fast, and the fluid comes out very fast so you have to control the spray so that the fluid will last longer in the bottle.

Works great
We just had a water restriction and were not flushing as often. The toilets got very stained, i used other toilet cleaners and brushes, which did ok but this stuff worked amazing, 5 minutes then brush and it is done. I don't think i will use it often but it does a great job when other things didn't
