Insta Hang - Gotta Get the hang of it, then its okay for tacking.
I read a lot of reviews before ordering this so I knew there were concerns. But this reminded me of something my dad used decades ago with curtains we had, so I ordered it, and used it, and ..for me...it was fine. Here's the thing: I was 'tacking' something really thin and light to the wall, and that's all I used it for. It was fine for that purpose, and for that purpose, I'd use it again. One issue is that I have is, some of the tacks do stick, but they were easy to remove and to go about using it. Now the next thing is to get "refills" for the tacks it uses as no regular pins can be used.

Excellent on Sheetrock
I figured out that the main reason for all the bad reviews on this product is that for some reason, the company claims it will work on "any wall". But anyone who knows anything about wall hangers can see that it will not work on wood, plaster or any hard-material wall. It does however, work great on sheetrock and is extremely handy, accurate and solid for a quick picture or 2. Just line it up, pop the plunger smartly with the palm of your hand and done . . . nice, clean and straight, ready to use hanger peg. Also, many have pointed out that's it's "cheap plastic". Again, it's plenty sturdy for nailing into sheetrock and for this price point, you're not going to get stainless steel. So while I rarely write reviews, I feel that this item has been poorly represented, needs further explanation and really rates a 5 star for how well it works when used properly. To whoever markets this item, you should simply change your ads to "sheetrock" only . . . you'll probably sell a whole lot more of them by being honest and not getting all the negative reviews. You're welcome . . .

Good tool for hanging pictures
Good tool for hanging pictures and such. However, it could use more documentation on how large/heavy an object it can handle. Also, the mechanism has a tendency to misfire causing the pin to either not fully come out of the mechanism or not fully go into the wall. This can leave you with extra single pins that the mechanism doesn't really handle. The one other thing I would suggest is a second level in the hand so you put the mechanism on top of the picture to see if it is level.

Great concept but the gun really does jam up a lot :/. It's because of the strips during manufacturing...sometimes the plastic bits don't cut off clean and then the opening of the next tack, doesn't always line up. Maybe if the opening were a little bigger or not in the shape of the tack nail to come out...I still use it but mainly for the little tack nails and then use a hammer with it. ;) I like the look of the tacks in certain applications. Also it's great if you are hanging things up that don't need to be lined up at the same level...since it can be difficult to predict where the tack nail will end up on the wall.

meh... bought it as a gag anyways
i made it to the second peg before it jammed, but i have to take full credit there. i hit the thing twice and it sent the next peg into the back of the first one, causing me to spend 10 mins prying out the resulting mess. once i learned to make sure to only hit it one swift, strong time (as to not need a second) the thing works for what it's advertised. the only 2 real gripes i have are how hard the compartment door it so slide off, and the quality control could be better on the pegs. some are misshaped or broken, so look for those also.

Excellent.
This is a replacement for one that broke after several years. An invaluable tool to have around the house.

Not the best tool, pegs are great for light-weight items though
This tool is only good for drywall, using lightweight pictures/items to hang on the wall. I had mine for a year, only used about half the pegs when the spring finally busted. I thought it was defective, so I bought another and that tool broke during the second use. So, I used the pegs and just put them in the wall with a hammer. The pegs are excellent for picture frames and canvases and other lightweight decor for your wall.If you buy this, do not expect it to last long.

Easiest way to hang a picture
This is my second set...it worked so well the first time I bought another. Only one suggestion you could offer just the hooks without the installer, this option isn't offered when getting a refill. Still an excellent way to hang pictures and leaves a very small hole if you have to move an item.

Be careful ln stalling tacks in machine and do nother get stuck or it will break..
Where to purchase more tacks...

WASTE OF MONEY!
AWFUL DONT TOUCH THIS WITH A BARGE POLE! doesn't not work, I tried this into masonry walls and the pin doesn't even go deep into the wall and half hangs out. its all made of plastic, the storage for the pegs and hooks is not made well and as you put the case back on they all fall out.does not say what you do with single pins that you remove from the wall. an absolute pile of rubbish... DONE WASTE YOUR MONEY!

WASTE OF MONEY
Doesn't work at all!!! It's ridiculously and cheaply made. The item jams as soon as you want to use it. DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT
