Red Devil 4039 Combination 5 Gallon Lid & Bucket Opener

This is a super useful tool for painting using 5 gallon buckets.

Why the local big box stores don't carry these, I have no idea. Bought a 5 gallon jug of paint and couldn't get the cap open due to the store closing it so tightly. This inexpensive tool was a lifesaver since I got it. The lid came off easily and feels like a solid tool.

This has held up much better that I expected being plastic and I've opened a ton of 5 gallon paint pails with it . A great preper item to have too and it sure beats tearing your fingers all up trying to open 5 gallon buckets with your hands .

As house painters we use a lot of 5 gallon buckets and the lids are very hard to unscrew. We use a sprayer so there’s no reason to rip off the side and the lids have taken so much time to get open. This fits well and works exactly as described. It’s easy to use and seems durable. The value for it was decent since our local stores no longer carried a similar product.

Only one I could find that removed both the top and the cap on a 5 gal bucket of paint. Only complaint is that if the store puts the cap on super tight then this will not grip the cap correctly and you need channel locks to remove cap and then use this to put the cap back on and off.

This tool is perfect for 5 gallon buckets of anything. Spout tool will spin the lid off with dried paint residue. This tool also has function to remove Flatt 5 gallon bucket lids. Great for restraunt buckets of pickles!!

Home Depot used to carry a similar tool to this, but not any more. If you get 5 gallon paint buckets, you know the pain of having the screw cap stuck from either being put on too tight or from dried paint around the cap. I've noticed the height of screw caps are almost as high as the bucket lid itself, so it's really hard to get a good grip with your hands. This tools really makes it so simple to open the screw cap. I checked for this everyone locally: Home Depot, Lowe's, Sherwin-Williams, Walmart, etc. Nobody had it, not even the specialty paint shops. This is a tool I'll keep coming back to. It was a good investment, although a little expensive. But, there really is no other alternative unless you scour the internet.

I have opened many a bucket with this thing, have dropped it on concrete with no problems. Other brands / manufacturers may be making shoddy units, but this one holds up.
