Big Whiskey (The Revised Second Edition): Featuring Kentucky Bourbon, Tennessee Whiskey, the Rebirth of Rye, and the Distilleries of America's Premier Spirits Region Review: Travel Guide, History Lesson, And Whiskey Review All In One - If you are planning to visit the Tennessee or Kentucky Distilleries or go on The Bourbon Trail this is the book for you. Living in East Tennessee, I believe this book captures the essence of the Whiskey Industry in these two States. The pride in Tennessee Whiskey has driven changes in the County laws to support distribution & sales, Moonshine has become popular, legal, and an artisan craft, and the demand for Tennessee Whiskey & Kentucky Bourbon is noticeable. Brand names are now featured in our Country Music. The book is well written, an easy read, educational in a warm style of writing. It does not "rate" the various brands but gives enough description for the reader to determine if they wish to pick up a bottle. It is an overview of the various distilleries, description of each of their whiskey's, and key players in the industry from these two states. You will want to visit, purchase, and sample. You too will be able to say "I Drink And I Know Things". I enjoyed this book and bought several copies as gifts for Family and Friends. Review: A GREAT book! - I got the for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! It is historical, educational, and full of fun facts. We are planning a Bourbon Trail trip based on this book. It is the perfect book!

For the whiskey lover
My boyfriend was extremely excited about this gift and can’t wait to look through it. He told me he would read a book without pictures so made sure to find him one with pictures and about a topic he enjoys!

Great book, but incorrect information on distillery locations
This is a great and informative book, but there is some incorrect distillery location information. On page 112, it says that Buffalo Trace is in Lexington, KY. Buffalo Trace is in Frankfort, KY! The other ones listed in Lexington are not in that city either. Woodford Reserve is in Versailles, KY. Wild Turkey and Four Roses are in Lawrenceburg, KY, which is closer to Frankfort, KY than it is to Lexington. Please correct!

If you are looking for detailed descriptions about individual whiskeys don’t buy this book. It is a rather arbitrary collection of stories and impressions about Whiskey and especially the history, the places and the people involved in it. I like the pictures and the master distiller profiles the most. For me it’s not a book to read through. The long row one distillery after the other is tiresome to read. I pick it up when I have a whiskey and read a couple of pages, which brings me in a good mood. The author has made a great effort and the book is full of information. Also the price appears reasonable
