Perfect pocket knife
I've seen some reviews where people had quality control issues and some complaints but I looked very closely at this knife and it is flawless. Beautiful knife that is absolutely perfect. If you know how to take care of carbon steel blades then you will love this knife. For all of you that don't know how, or don't want to make the effort to care for carbon steel then get the SS version of this. You will be much happier with the stainless. The blades on this knife are showing very slight signs of patina right out of the box. Not a problem but obviously they will develop corrosion easily without some care. Blades are very sharp right out of the box. Springs are strong enough to hold the blades open but yet easy to open. Just right. My first Case knife was way back in the 60's and honestly this knifes' quality is exactly as I remember them to be. I'm glad that an American company with the history that this company has is still making high quality products. Pocket knives have gone through some serious changes over the years and most are good changes that make for a better knife, but this is a throw back to the old days of pocket knives and it is a great knife as long as you understand and appreciate what it is.

Just keeps working and working
What can I say that hasn't already been said about Case Knives. This one is such a work horse and is the perfect design for anyone that wants a good classic EDC. The blade is easy to sharpen and the knife is the perfect size to stick in your pocket.

Excellent all around!
Nothing to dislike. Genuine Case Trapper with yellow synthetic side plates, dual blades, razer sharp out of the box. This is a hefty pocket knife designed to be used. I plan to use mine every day for spoon making, general whittling, knot making and the occasional sandwich. If you want a decent affordable folding knife made in America by a reputable company with a history of turning out good knives, this is the one you want. Now, let's talk about the retailer. Five stars are not enough. Knife arrived a day early, was well packaged and I am already shopping with them for my next purchase.

It's a Case. 'Nuff said.
I own about a dozen Case knives. Of all the traditional style pocket knives available, I've found them consistently the best finished with the best fit, best looking with the best edges and some of the finest carbon non-stainless steel blades available. That's compared to some other very fine knives, like those from Queen, Boker and Great Eastern that cost the same or more than Case knives. Other makers might have some excellent unique patterns that I like but, overall, Case makes outstanding knives in all the patterns they manufacture. This is a Trapper pattern. It's pretty large for a traditional pocket knife, just over 4 inches closed. It has two blades of the same length, a pointed clip and a rounded spey. Both are very useful blades. The grip panels are yellow delrin, a type of plastic. Whereas many owners of traditional knives generally prefer wood, bone or stag handle covers, most agree yellow plastic panels are pretty much as traditional as the natural materials. Yellow plastic knives have been around for many decades and current knives with yellow delrin look nice and retro. This Case Trapper looks as good as it performs. It's a great knife for those who want a larger knife in a traditional design.

Genuine Case Trapper
Its a genuine yellow plastic handle trapper from Case. Its true Carbon Steel, which means the blades are magnetic and mine are. I have it next to a Rough Ryder Trapper also in yellow plastic. The Case is a bit bigger. The case is also much better in terms of construction. It feels heavier and more solid the the RR.

A timeless piece!
After collecting knives for a long time, I finally pulled the proverbial "trigger" and purchased this trapper model slipjoint in carbon steel from WR Case, and boy was I happy I did! If you are in the market for a classic slipjoint folder, you really owe it to yourself to go out and purchase a Case folder! I'm so happy with the walk and talk of the knife, and the fit and finish is spot on. The steel holds a very good edge, and I use this knife for just about everything from utility purposes, to cutting my steak at night, to cutting apples and carrots for my yellow lab, Henry. As I previously stated, this I particular model is made from carbon steel, and therefore will develope a patina as you use the knife. The ergonomics of the handle are very nice, and the handle has enough width to it so it's comfortable in the handle, unlike a lot of the these super slim tacticool folders around these days! If you're looking for a very nice full-sized gentleman's folder that will catch the eye of knife enthusiasts, this is certainly a great knife at a great price! Highly recommended.
