Clasp broke on first use
Disappointed with the first use of the paddle as the clasp to tighten the extension broke on first use.

Durable and adjustable
Lost the paddle that came with my board, bought this one and love it. Have not had any issues. Holds up well, does not rust, adjustable length.

Am I damaging the paddle?
It works well and what not. Floats. Adjustability gives me the length I need. Handle feels nice, the adjuster collar is adequate, easy to get the desired tension, easy to release and disassemble the paddle by just flipping it open. Yesterday I used the paddle to push off from shore and the paddle portion flexed significantly. It went back to normal right after and I don't see any stress marks on the paddle but I'm concerned that the strength (of the paddle, not the shaft) is compromised. Today it flexed again when I was trying to stabilize my kayak so from now on I'll use the handle end whenever I need to mess with the shore or push off in shallow water.
