How to install this? it arrived with no instructions, and whne i tried to use it it read less than a perfcet vacuum then would not return to 0.

It can be solved， On the top of the gauge there is a seal plug ， pls open it then close it 。

Dial rests at 20 psi even when plug has been removed. How can I manually recalibrate it?

If you have pulled the rubber plug and it did not go back to 0, that's all you can do apart from bumping it firmly against a rubber surface a couple of times. If that doesn't do it, try raising the pressure close to the maximum limit and releasing it rapidly a couple of times. If that doesn't do, it's trash.

True outdoor durability is limited by plastic lenses. Does this have a glass lens?

It has a lens, not sure if it's glass or plastic. I don't have it with me.

Is there any way to recalibrate the gauge? In case of there being reading error after years of use.

Yes there is, you could pull out and plug back in the silicone plug on the top of the pressure gauge, the pointer will return to zero. Please see the attached video.
