RV Designer 1in Wide Vinyl Trim Insert for RVs - Flexible Molding, Exterior Use, and Roof Edge Molding - Ideal for Travel Trailers and Campers, Heavy Duty, 100 Foot Roll, C-White

Much better than original. Best to use when warmer out. Once you get a process installation is easy. Nice thicker material. Stays in the track. Just make sure you measure properly there are different sizes for different situations.

I picked this up to swap out some damaged trim on my camper and it turned out great. I measured the old piece to make sure the fit was right, ordered it online, and had it installed quickly. Based on what others suggested, I left it out in the sun beforehand to soften it up a bit, which made the process even easier. The whole job took about ten minutes from start to finish. The material feels sturdy and has a clean, polished look that matches the original trim. The seal was snug but went on without a struggle. For the cost, it’s a solid value and definitely worth it.

This trim is a lot better quality than what came new on the RV.

DATE ORDERED: 03/12/24 DATE ARRIVED: 03/15/24 DATE OF REVIEW: 03/16/24 PERSONAL BUY / PRODUCT TO REVIEW: Personal Buy DELIVERY: Arrived by UPS. Good Packaging. QUALITY: Thick Rubber Trim Molding. Advertised as 1". Actual dimension of product received was closer to 7/8". INTENDED PURPOSE: 5th Wheel RV Gutter Trim RECOMMENDATION: We have a 5th wheel. Its an older model that came with the standard plastic trim. It has fallen apart after 10 years. Brittle; Cracked; Split; Faded; Falling out of the track. Thought we would try rubber this time. On initial inspection, I was concerned because it stated is was 1" trim. Actual measurement was closer to 7/8". The rubber seems to be a decent quality. It is a bit stiff and will wear your fingers out as you install it. Each side run on our RV is 40'. Times two, I needed 80'. Taking the old trim out was easy. It was brittle and cracked anyway. No sense in being gentle with it. After removing the old trim, it took about 1 hour per side to change working from an extension ladder. The new rubber molding is stiff. It looks great. We purchased the black trim. It 'looks' like it will definitely outlast the previous molding. I/we would recommend that when you need to replace your gutter trim molding, this is a great alternative and very cost effective. Be patient while you're installing. Insert into the bottom track first. Work about 4" at a time. Do your best to fold it as you go. Clean the track with a small vinyl brush first or as you go. Verify that you have it inserted fully into the track. You don't want to have to pull it back out. This is not a hard job. Almost anyone could do it. One suggestion...Do this on a relatively warm day (I did ours when it was about 50 degrees F. and sunny. I unrolled the rubber out ahead of time to let the sun warm it up. That made it a bit easier to work with). At this point, I would buy this product again should I need more. OVERALL RATING: 4 Stars. I would give it 5 stars but need time to see how it does in the heat and cold for expansion and contraction properties. We need to make sure it stays in the track. Installed on 03/15/24. Will report back at a later date.

Saved a lot of money vs having new molding installed on outside of trailer. Easy to used looks great when done. Make sure you get the right size.

I researched this trim using Chat GPT to search for the best-reviewed products for this situation (replacing existing trim on a trailer that sits outside 24/7). It's soft and easy to work with, just cut it with scissors when you figure out length you need (always leave a little extra!). Only hassle is the double-roll; two connected rolls of 50' each. If you let it unravel before you've used much of it, it can turn into a mess. I recommend always keeping it coiled, and wrap it up securely for storage. This will save you a bunch of time. :-)

Looks like a good product and was easy to install

Arrived in a couple days, very heavy duty and flexible rubber like substance," not plastic". Went on with ease and looks great. Time will tell on longevity. Doing the 90 degree bends on the back of unit were a bit of a struggle do to thickness, but with a little patience I got it inserted. This is now my go to insert trim brand.

Bon produit. S instal bien souple et semble etre un bon produit. Seul chose ses qu il et plus rubber et pas brillant comme d'origine.

I needed to replace several strips on my older motorhome. I went to the local RV store and for 100' they wanted more money. Their product was lighter and didn't have any UV protection. Why would you get it? When I asked for a data sheet on the product, they said that it wasn't available. This product is about 20% heavier and has UV protection. It is easy to cut (lengths) and install. The finished product makes the old girl look young again.
