Maxi-Monkey Paracord Tool Jig ~ Makes Ball Knots from 5/8" to 2 1/4"

I like this jig for making monkey's fist using paracord. It works great and is very sturdy. It can be used over and over again without any issues. Much faster and easier to make the monkey's fist when using this tool, compared to a less expensive wood jig. You won't be disappointed.

(ORIGINAL 1 STAR REVIEW) I hate it is to strong a phrase to use considering the fact it is unusable. It is well made and I hope the item I received is an abnormality caused by a machining error. A 1 inch ball bearing has no holes that line up even close to the bearing. I have emailed the seller's Administrative Coordinator with this issue. I will update this review if I am contacted with a solution. (The photo is of a 1 inch ball bearing in the center of the jig)UPDATED REVIEW; I WAS CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY BUY THE SELLER. I WAS SENT A PHOTO ON THE USE OF THIS JIG, THE HOLES DO NOT LINE UP FOR A 1 INCH BEARING BUT THERE IF ENOUGH FLEX IN THE LONG METAL RODS TO FORCE THE BEARING BETWEEN THE RODS SO IT IS HELD FIRMLY. INITIALLY I WAS THINKING THE RODS WOULD BEND OR BREAK AT THE THREADED END IF FORCED APART. AFTER USING IT AS SHOWN IT IS GREAT. AS ANYONE KNOWS THE TIGHTER THE JIG THE LESS TIGHTENING IS NEEDED WHEN FINISHED. I HAVE ATTACHED THEIR PHOTO FOR YOUR REFERENCE.

More expensive than competitors but good quality, sturdy materials, adjustable for different size cores. Disassembles you be easy to store.Monkey fist instructions included are a bit cryptic. There are plenty of video tutorials online though so not a deal-breaker.Recommended if you have a number of projects or use it regularly but a little pricey for just a few projects.Also recommend purchasing paracord tool set. Together they make whipping up lanyards a breeze.

Awesome construction and works great

I received the product but even with tutorials I could get the ropes for the knots to form the balls once I had to pull slightly on each side … I’m very crafty but this just “ate at me” I gave up. I did try different sizes and bought from styrofoam to ping-pongs balls for the center but my daughter found in a dollar tree in the summer section ( six mounted after the nautical nots so she got them for me and well I haven’t gone back to deal with trying for the 100th time

I have a wooden monkey fist jig that worked fine. However, the wood dowels that 'held' the 1" ball that I use to make my monkeys fists doesn't really hold it - just a guide to keep it in the area.This steel and aluminum (?) jig actually HOLDS the 1" steel ball roughly in the middle (yes, you DO need to use some pressure to slide it down that far) and makes for a lot tighter original wrapping. So much tighter that after the original wrap - I need to only make 2 more passes to completely tighten up the paracord around the ball!! Awesome!! Normally I would need 3-4 passes previously using the wooden jig.And with using this new steel jig - I have less 'adjusting' to do to make sure the paracord is lying properly as long as the original wrapping of the ball is lined up and done straightly as it keeps everything snug from the get go! So in other words - this item may have cost more than my wood jig, but in time along since I've got it I've probably saved that money twice over. I've done probably 50+ monkeys fists since I've picked this up and am EXTREMELY FRIGGIN' HAPPY!!!Thank you for this product!

Nice jig, solid and stable. I have made two Monkey fists since I received it two days ago. The metal rods flex a little so long as you don't screw them in all the way. I made one fist with a 1"1/8 th ball bearing and it was a little difficult with the rods in the second holes from the middle. The ball is a tight fit but it worked. All in all I'm happy with the purchase. Little pricey but I like the fact that it is metal and has a good feel to it . You could easily attach it to a base. I Decent product and different from the wood jigs that I also use, some home made. I would buy again!

It does what it’s intended to do. My monkey fist wasn’t perfect but it’s not the jigs fault. The process takes patience and practice, and this jig gives you the platform to make it happen.

This product is top quality.

Was using an adjustable jig previously. The pins were too thin and tended to move. This is so much better. Easier to use and looks good, too...
