uniball Jetstream Ballpoint Pens, Medium Point (1.0mm), Blue, 3 Pack

Be aware that though the specs list says the closure type is retractable (click) it is not. It is a two piece, with a cap closure like a fountain pen. The click version of this pen is the Jetstream RT. I'd normally knock off a star for the incorrect description but it's probably an innocent oversight since they offer the pen in both types. If anything it's probably hurting them as they likely get a lot of avoidable returns as a result. The fountain pen closure actually adds a bit of class. Otherwise, it's a great smooth-writing, quick-drying pen, being a ballpoint hybrid with the 1.0 tip. Don't let the "bold" description you'll see of this tip size fool you. It's really a medium. Perhaps the gel pens are bold but not this one. So, writes very well (much smoother than the finer tips) and has the superink fraud protection. I'm happy.

This review is for the blue ink, capped version, of the .7mm Uni Jetstream. I used to use this pen in college 20 years ago and I loved it desperately, then it became harder to find. I recently thought of it and found it here on Amazon. I bought a set, expecting it to disappoint my memories, but if anything, it's even better than I remember. The ink is so smooth. I barely have to touch the page to get a clean line. The weight and balance of the pen while the cap is posted is perfect for the size of my hand. The ink is a very dark blue that looks beautiful on the page. I wish I could give this product MORE than 5 stars as it so fully exceeds my expectations that I feel like a perfect score doesn't do it justice.

This is my favorite pen of all time. I'd order more if my wife would let me :-) I always carry one in my pocket, and I love the fact that because of the cap (instead of a push-button), it will never open in my pocket and leak or stab me. I prefer the fine-point blue now, though I used to carry a 1mm-tipped black version for years. Writes well and dries fast on more stuff than you'd expect (not everything, but definitely better than most pens). I'm not left-handed but apparently lefties smudge ink a lot when writing and this one helps avoid that, but I just enjoy writing things and not having to worry about smudging like I would with a gel pen, though it writes about as smooth as one. It's definitely not the smoothest-writing pen ever and it's not perfect, but for the price it's excellent (I mean come on, it's under $5 each!). I've probably been carrying a version of this pen for over ten years as my "everyday carry" and I always keep at least a spare in my briefcase. I've gotten so good at not losing pens as I get older that I tend to run them try rather than lose them, which at least means my stash lasts a while! I'd say with light daily use one pen lasts me 6-9 months easily. You can see how much ink is left which is nice, and they're cheap enough I usually toss them when they run out (seems harder to find refills than new pens, though they are technically refillable). One plus to not carrying a very expensive pen is if I do lose one (or one "walks away"), it's not a big deal, but it's still nice enough that I take care of it and try not to lose them often. The funniest thing is that 95% of people I loan my pen to, have no idea how to open it! They usually try twisting it first, then pushing an end, and then eventually they usually figure out (or I mention) that you pull the cap off. It does click in a bit firmly and the look is a bit ambiguous when closed, so I kind of understand, but it's still funny. And if I pull the cap off and attach it to the other end (it has good balance with and without the cap sitting on the back end) for the person, they usually write on themselves before realizing I've opened it for them. You just can't win--but just in the loaning department, in all other ways you can definitely win with this pen! They appear to have stopped carrying this precise pen in office supply stores at least around me, which is why I've had to go online to find my stock. I have had a couple of coworkers who (independently) decided on this pen as their everyday carry as well which kind of surprised me, because most people have never heard of it (or don't care, most likely). That's way too much about a pen, but I have used it heavily for over 10 years, and I do enjoy typing on my mechanical keyboard even more that writing :-)

Writes, slides, it is fun to write with. Watch the tip size. I ordered "fine point size 0.7 mm", got a box that said "medium point 0.7 mm"! As long as it's 7 mm!! Writes smooth, has nice grip. This style has a cap so if you don't want to mess with that order Uniball Jetstream RT (Retractable). Start that novel!

So smooth my favourite pen for signature in addition to ordinary writing and it never smudges, leaks or dries up what more can you ask for.

Había estado investigando acerca de las diferentes plumas y estilos (ballpoint, rollerball o pluma fuente). Probando todas la rollerball resultó mejor para mi. Pues bien, dentro de las rollerball hay variedad de opiniones sobre su desempeño sobre el papel, no importa si son plumas caras o baratas, solo encontré una buena coincidencia: si quieres escritura suave , eficaz, que no se salte, que el flujo sea continuo, etc, entonces la ballpoint jetstream es la opción. Yo puse este repuesto en una pluma Waterman Expert y en una Pentel Energel y quedó sin problemas, parece que en realidad las medidas son algo estandar. AL final tengo dos plumas que escriben de lujo, una para juntas, cursos, etc y otra para uso "rudo" en planta o para la calle. Altamente recomendable.
