It's fine - but why doesn't this thing have a tapered thread!?
I needed something to stop the 'hydraulic shock' caused by shutting the lever tap in my kitchen from working the fridge plumbing loose. After 9 months, the 1/4" plastic push fit tubing had popped out from the filter and flooded under the kitchen cabinets.Seems like this will do the job, but it was a s*d to fit it, without leaks. The pieces come unassembled and the threads on the bottom of the vessel and inside the brass T-piece are not tapered. Thus, there's no seal whatsoever - unless copious quantities of PTFE tape are used when screwing it together. After 3 attempts, and thoroughly WODGING it with tape, I think I've cured the leak. Also slathered a metric butt-load of Fernox plumbers putty all over the joint for good measure.Part of the problem is that the hex nut on the bottom of the vessel is so narrow that I can't get any of my spanners on it, to tighten it down. Hence, I could only do it hand-tight. Would have to buy a 23mm narrow spanner to torque it down good and hard - but still, there's no actual seal between the two threads or mating faces. Really, there aren't any mating faces.

Did nothing at all!!
Exactly the same terrible banging from one hot tap before and after fitting. Complete waste of money.

End water hammer!
Ok so last year I put in a new bathroom and toilet whilst installing I decided to remove cold water storage tank from loft, this made everything mains fed which was initially great but brought in another issue on completion, water hammer in pipes. Every time you flush toilet, turn off taps bang! So noisy my neighbour could hear it.So thought I might try this shock arrestor and what a brilliant device this has turned out to be,some people on YouTube suggest fitting near the source of banging pipes which makes sense, but I went for easiest location my combi boiler cold water inlet feed to see if it would work? It did brilliantly no banging pipes anywhere in house,no matter how quickly I turn off taps, silence.Seems to me no matter where you fit it on mains cold water pipe it acts like a shock absorber for whole system, another reason to fit on combi boiler installation is some manufacturers are now recommending install of one of these as standard procedure to protect your boiler components from potential water hammer damage.Install time 20-30mins,bargain for £24.

Works like a dream
Just out of the blue my pipes started banging every time I used my washer and since fitting this device it works like a dream, no banging at all

Water thump
This is great. When I first attached it knocked when I turned a tap on. I let a tiny bit of air out and it has been fine ever since. I also was able to fully open the stop cock for the first time in 25 years. Very happy

Tee supplied is poor quality/different to the listing
The tee supplied is not the sane as the item listing, the middle connection is round so you cannot get a spanner around it to tighten or loosen the connection. The thread also does not get tight, it simply goes all the way by hand so you will need a good thread sealer I doubt stabdard PTFE will be good enough due to the poor quality tee.
