What a great design. Best no solder banana plugs I have every used.
Kind of expensive but definitely worth it. These are the easiest, most reliable no solder (and no hassle) banana jacks I have ever come across. I think back on all the years I spent soldering together custom speaker cables or fiddling with set screws on the older non-solder jacks. These are so easy and quick to set up and the wires definitely will not come loose. The design of the conductor retaining mechanism really locks the stranded speaker wire in place and also maximizes the surface contact area of the wire to the plug. The jacks themselves are really stable and have just the right amount of retention into the jack plug of my Denon AV receiver and my whole house speaker distribution/switcher system. The diameter and grip on the housing also makes the plugs very easy to handle and gives the wiring a very professional look. I only wish I had known about these earlier. Definitely deserves 5 stars or more IMHO. I highly recommend theses to anyone who needs to build their own custom length banana jack cables.

Best choice for a solidly built, easy to assemble, and pocket book friendly cable end
I grabbed the banana and spade plugs both - build quality is high, threads to assemble are machined perfectly, and they work very well. I built cables with 14 and 12awg wire both and they both worked as expected with no issues during assembly, connectivity, or in actual use passing sound. I was interested in having good speaker cable, good connections into my amp and speakers, and good overall sound. Most of the crazy expensive speaker cables are 8 feet - I needed 25 footers to work with my setup - so I grabbed some Mogami and Canare cable, shrink wrap, wire loom, and these cable ends and built some very nice cables. It would be nice to A/B these with some of the AQ or other expensive banana or spade connectors, but $50 per pair is a lot and I really think they would sound the same in most systems. If you're stuck $15k or more you may opt to go the expensive route. For everyone else, buy with confidence and make high quality cables with these cable ends. If I need more I'll order these for sure. Quality product.

Super easy to assemble!
I've never seen banana plug connectors like this. They just screw together with no soldering. You strip the wire, feed it through one end, bend the copper strands back against the 'teeth' of the barrel, and then screw the banana connector part into it. The banana end engages with the teeth and presses firmly against the copper. You get a very solid connection as opposed to some of these connectors that just have a little screw in the side or require soldering or crimping. Plus the connectors themselves are rather heavy duty and do not feel flimsy.I think the only disadvantage is that there is no strain relief, and no capability to add strain relief. You definitely don't want to pull on the cords. I found what helped was to use some 3/8" shrink tubing, first a 1.5" piece and then after it's shrunk down, another .5" piece over that aligned where the connector barrel is. This is far from perfect but it's better than nothing.Despite the lack of strain relief I can't knock a star off because the build quality is great and these things are SO easy to put together. If you have to wire up a lot of cables that are terminated with banana plugs I think this is the way to go. Just be cautious that pulling on the wire, not the connector, probably will be more damaging than expected.

Well made, high quality, and work very well. Highly recommended.
Love these. These are perfect for anyone that loves home theater, wants a high quality connection, wants incredible ease with connecting speakers, and wants a nice polished look. I agree with one reviewer that said you'll get the most use out of these if you move your system around. But I also think these are great for people that don't even move it around a lot. Reason being, they are quality connections without any signal loss and they provide peace of mind knowing that your speaker wire connections are strong and pure. And if for any reason your wires get yanked or pulled by someone or a pet, it's not going to rip the bare speaker wire right out of the receiver or speakers. These are incredibly strong once you've put the speaker wire in them and screwed them back together. So if the pull on the wire was strong enough, it would at worst just disconnect the entire banana plug from the port it was plugged into. So there would be no need to go re-strip a new piece of wire and re-insert it into the port. Just simply plug this back in. Anyone that has used speaker wire knows that with the receivers or speakers that use a crimping type port rather than a screw down port, there is a chance some of your wire threads will break off. You buy a specific gauge wire for a reason, so why risk getting parts of it ripped or broken off when connecting or disconnecting the wires. These will just save you a lot of trouble and time and look great, if you're into that really solid look in the back of the receiver or when attached to speaker ports that accept these.Well made and high quality.

Very Good Quality But Not On Every Plug
The Sewell banana plug is sturdy, well finished gold contact lugs, has a unique mushroom wire spreading way of making a solid connection. Lug cap and body part have perfectly machined threads which you rarely find in any components these days. The mushroom wire spreading technique took a couple of tries before I got it perfect. It is a great connection without any set screws or solder. The key is dont strip your wire more than 1/4" or when you mushroom/spread the wire strands over the center post they will be too long and will get caught in the threads as you screw the two parts together. I would give this 5 stars but out of 24 pair (48 banana plugs) 8 of them had banana contacts that were too skinny to make tight contact. I had to use the blade of an artist knife to gently spread the slots on the banana so it was a "fatter" and made better contact. A nice terminal component like Sewell which weren't cheap, should have better quality control IMHO.
