Not a free promo, doubled at applying adhesive strip, great little second iron
First off, I actually bought this. Didn't get a free one to try out. It's not perfect by any means but it gets a solid 5 stars based on the gap it fills in my life, and probably yours. This went right in the drawer at work, not planning to travel with it. I have a small office and even if I didn't, i'd get a healthy ration of crap if I brought in an ironing board and iron to work.I have had plenty of days where I get to work and have that stupid collar that doesn't button down, and keeps popping up. Even with collar stays, sometimes collars are just ornery. All the attempts to fold it back, wet it down, and "will it" with all my willpower to please stay down, are unsuccessful. This powers up quick, works just fine and can go back in the drawer within 15 minutes. The thing that cinched the deal was the fold back feature. I needed to heat a veneer strip to the side of a credenza. This folded back and glued it on nicer than any professional tool I could have rented.I still have an Iron at home and think it would be foolish to expect this to replace that. But for the money it's helpful for little jobs.

Good for touchups
I'll have to play with it a bit as my first experience had mixed results. I used this on a recent cruise and tried to get some of the wrinkles out of my dress shirts for dinner. It did a nice job of creasing the sleeves, but I had some difficulty when opening it and using it like an iron and trying to get out some of the deeper wrinkles; might work better with a spray bottle. I think for your collar or placket it would work fine. For travel it will work in a pinch. Will NOT replace your regular or steam iron.

not worth using at any price - wish I could return it
Very sorry I missed the return window on this product. Bought as a gift and the recipient didn't want it, found it too awkward to use and not really useful. Since I couldn't return it, I tried it to see if it was worth using. I really wanted to love this product. It is mostly a waste of time. It doesn't spring open far enough for the clothes to slide in easily, I have to use both hands to pry it open further just to get the sleeve of a polo shirt in there. Same problem with the collar, had to pry it open every time I moved it. It is very awkward to press hard enough to iron, because you have to press with your fingertips, past the part where the "wings" fold out. My hand was cramping up just doing the back half of the bottom hem of the polo shirt. And I have very long fingers! Anyone with small hands would not be able to use it at all. Very flimsy and cheaply made, no way is it worth $35. I would have been better off just using my flat iron (that I use on my hair).

Half the job
First off, I received my iron in a box that looked like it was already used and returned (I could tell why). I bought this because I really needed an iron that I can quickly use on my wrinkled T-shirts. I thought this device would rid of any wrinkles, but it only does half the job. When I used it on all the settings for heat it had to offer based on material:PolySilkCottonDenimLinenI used each one on my T-shirt and it did get rid of the big wrinkles but the smaller ones, not so much. It's doesn't get hot enough to remove the wrinkles even if I let it preheat for 2minutes. (10mins is max duration for use until you have to let it cool *in the instruction manual*) I should have took a before and after picture but you'll get the point of the after picture. Don't worry, I ironed it on an ironing board to see if it works well first. It kept getting snagged on the T-shirt so if you want to use this iron well, you'll have to make the T-shirt completely flat. I'll keep trying it and see how well it does on other T-Shirts and even try it on collars (I bet it would work on collars though because it is build for collars). For now, I'd say it works but doesn't really get rid of wrinkles, gets caught because of the shape of the iron and just makes things look less wrinkled, not wrinkled free. The iron I got was used already with one or two scratches. I'll update later on how my experience goes with this iron.

Perfect solution for curled collars
I had been using my daughter's hair straightener to press my shirt collars. When I ruined one of my shirts because of some melted crap she got on the straightener, I thought it was time to get my own. I use it mainly to straighten out curled collar corners but it works well on the entire collar. I've not used it as an iron but for what I wanted it to do, it is perfect.

Severely Limited Functionality
I really wanted to like this item, but after an hour of using it I had to admit that this was much harder to use than other methods. The main problems:1) The area where you grab and press the plates together gets HOT (obviously). There is no way around that you cannot grab just below them because you really need to squeeze hard to get the wrinkles out. Maybe get some gloves, but then they should include gloves with the item!2) The unit takes multiple passes to get the wrinkles out because a pinching pressure is much much less than a firm downward press on a traditional travel iron.Perhaps if I only needed to straighten out a wayward collar tip (as a previous reviewer had mentioned), this product would be ok; however, that is a severely limited functionality for a $35 iron...

Great all around - handy, space saving and safe to use. Iron away!
My 88 year old aunt had a shirt that the collars were curled up and she wanted her big iron (which I could not find in her storage) so I picked his up. I was worried about her safety. This is perfect for small jobs and even open up to get larger areas. I liked it so much that I got myself one.

Great for collars, AWESOME for travel
So it's advertised for collars, but it's also useful on the road. I bought this for my husband, but when we hit the road for a cross country move, I found it was super handy when flattened out and used to iron other clothes too. The bag it comes with is nice too - it's heat resistant like the bags that come with hair straighteners and curling irons, so it's safe to pack away almost immediately after being unplugged.
