Great for braces instead of wax
My 13 year old son would not use the wax for his braces his orthodontist had given him. Not sure why not, he just didn’t like it. But the braces were cutting up his mouth here and there between appts. When his older brother who had had braces before him showed him this product, he really showed interest and started using it right away. Yes, the wax that the orthodontist gave was free, but didn’t help if it wasn’t being used. This really was so helpful and he is so much more comfortable now when he has a wire poking him and uses this. Fun and easy to use.

Way better than wax
My daughter has been through it with braces; she’s had them since she was 9 along with a palate expander and herbs device to push her jaw forward. The amount of sores she gets is awful.. we do salt water rinses, and wax never sticks good enough. This works amazing. Thanks to another parent recommendation, you dry the area first. Use a pea size amount, roll together and place. It should set up all within two minutes, and it stays! Much thicker than wax. Making a good boundary. Pretty easy to pop off especially with the little sticks it comes with. Not to mention this last round for her, a wire was sticking out that we couldn’t get to. This is expensive but worth it. There’s not a lot so you may go through it quickly depending on your needs.

Love the concept, hate the flavoring
This stuff WORKS. There's a slight learning curve but this stuff is legit. Once it's on, it's on. All day long, I can eat, drink, talk, even push on it with my tongue and it's not going anywhere. It is VERY noticeable though. Bright, bright white color which just makes my teeth look awful. Luckily I don't need it on brackets that are super visible because it looks like you've got gum caught in your brackets. The flavor isn't strong but it's very artificial and kind of gross, luckily it fades pretty quickly. The directions say "pea-sized" amount. How big is a pea? Bigger than I need to cover my brackets. I squeeze out about 2mm from each side and it's the perfect amount.

Must have if your kid has braces
If you have ever been unprepared for a wire coming loose you know it is not a pleasant experience. This product is truly a must have. We have tried wax that falls out and we’ve even resorted to wire cutters once on a Friday night over a holiday weekend. Once while out of town we had to go to an orthodontist because of a sharp wire poking. Once we found this product it alleviated the need for the wax that falls out or having to find an orthodontist on a vacation. If your kid has traditional braces, you must purchase this product. It is truly a lifesaver. Moms keep it in your purse always have it handy. Dads carry in your backpacks. You will be a true lifesaver!Sticks and stays. No funny or unpleasant taste.

Definitely Helps With Sore Brackets
This is a really cool alternative to the dental wax they give you at the orthodontist. My son was in a lot of pain from his brackets and the wire sticking out rubbing against his gums. We could not get the wax from the orthodontist so I ordered this. Once you squeeze out a pea size, you mix it together quickly with your fingers and place on brackets. It does harden quickly so you want to put it on quickly. I found it does not stick to the wires though, only the brackets. We found some silicone wax that sticks to the wires that I bought. Price for this was a bit high for the amount you get. My son really liked the flavor of this.

a little pricey, but works very well
I got this for my daughter when she first got her dental appliance installed. This holds very well and lasts for hours. She applied the goop at about 0500, flew a few hundred miles, ate lunch, took a nap, ate dinner, and played with the little ones for hours before it finally started to fall off. She applied another dab just before bed and that one lasted through the night and much of the following day. So it is pricey, but when you consider how many of the wax packs it potentially replaces, it's worth it.I will echo what the other reviewer wrote though. When we first got it, I put a dab on my finger and started to form the ball just to see how long you had to mix it all together. It was a few seconds. When my daughter tried it the first time, she messed it up and had to start over.We got the tooth coloured version and it didn't seem that bad, but she only had it towards the back of her mouth. when she gets the full braces, we may feel differently.I'd happily recommend it to anyone and have shared it with her orthodontist.

Product is a life saver
Couldn't be happier with Gishy Goo. For a week and a half while on vacation, I had the end of a wire on my bottom braces that was just ripping apart my mouth. It was so sore and made eating and drinking a pain. I tried dental wax but found it would work for a few minutes at a time before it eventually wore off and moved. This product has allowed my mouth to heal. I know the product says to not eat or drink with it in, but I've had no issues and will keep doing it until my next orthodontic appt next week. Just drink/eat on the opposite side of the Gishy Goo. Couldn't recommend this enough!

Amazing!
My daughter got braces a frw weeks ago and was having a hard time with a wire that was a little to long. She got this stuff and it is like magic. It works great and stays on threw eating and sleep but peels off when she needs it to.
