Worth the Single player adventure alone
I have borrowed ALttP and beaten it before but I bought it for myself. First of all I am a devoted fan of The Legend of Zelda. But this game is a supreme example of Zelda. I have played a few Zelda games. Even the 3Ds. I love them all but in a day dominated by DS games I can't help but still adore this title. Although I will not say this is better than Spirit tracks/ Phantom hourglass outright I believe it carries a different level of fun the the DS titles lack. ALttP is a brilliant Classic that is clearly one of the finest examples of a game that ever was created. If you do not have the original than now is a chance to play a game you won't regret. I will worn that new players easily scared by harness might find this almost revolting. Then it would be something to work up to. I was relatively new when I first played it but I used IGN walk throughs to help me. If you think classics are outrageously hard bits of perfect button pressing then I will say partly. But This is more than that. For one I found the incredible sense of exploration dominant in here. Then there is the villages... etc. So what if you already have The SNES ALttP? What does four swords offer? First of you need two+ of these cartridges, two+ gameboys, one+ GB advance link cable and one+buddyies. If you have that consider getting the game. On it's own it is a reasonable game. Fun but with plenty of shortcomings. If you are devoted to playing all the Zelda games that it is ok. If not than I can't promise satisfaction though it still is a winner. Otherwise If you have not bought the original ALttP that it is a wonderful extra!

This is the reason why I bought a GBA in 2013 (proud to say that)
Yes a million times yes. If you loved playing Link to the Past on the SNES growing up in the 90's, you will love this cross platform. The storyline is identical to the SNES version. 3 pendants, Master Sword, to the Dark World and 7 maidens, etc etc. Only difference is in this one you get to keep the shovel instead of lose it, there is an extra item slot in your inventory which is kind of an upgrade actually. The controls of course are a little different, hence 2 less buttons but you quickly adjust. No reason for less than 5 stars as the game stays true to the classic. In the dark world at the 3rd dungeon, I once again found myself searching for that small key to get into the door in the "Bosses" room, the one where you have to use the flame to get in. Or in the 7th dungeon trying to loop the red block you stand on around the right sequence in the dark dodging the flaming clock hand(what I call it). My childhood frustration all over again. Try finding the extra bottle located under the bridge, taking that purple chest to the light world thief, finding all the partial hearts. This is what video games are supposed to be. Low graphics, great soundtrack, solving puzzles. Love it.

Blast from the Past; Good to be back!
As far as SNES to GBA transitions go, this is awesome. They changed a few things, such as some of the dialogue from the SNES version, as well as adding Ocarina of Time's SFX to Link, but that doesn't bother me too much. This is my 2nd favorite Zelda game, right behind Ocarina of Time. For 16-bit rendition, it's epic and very time consuming. There's loads to do, and the story's very compelling. The game has a haunting atmosphere with some of its music and events, but it overall adds to the mysticism and epic quality of the long-sought "Golden Power," and the price that has been paid by those who seek it.It's very loyal to the original edition, and for those who don't have an SNES but have a GBA, Nintendo DS or the Gamecube add-on that lets it play GBA games, it's a dream come true! Haven't played Four Swords, though I very much want to and I enjoyed Four Swords Adventures. Even without Four Swords though, I'd say this is worth buying.

Pure nostalgia!
I played 'A Link to the Past' as a teenager, and it remains my all-time favorite game, both in the Zelda franchise and overall. I'm overjoyed to have the chance to play this again. The cartridge is in EXCELLENT condition. There's not a scratch or a mark anywhere, including on the label. All in all, I'm more than thrilled. Thank you so much!

A Link to Childhood
I first began playing the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past years and years ago when my family still had a working NES. And it's safe to say that it's set my standard for all Zelda games I've played since then. I had to buy this game when I discovered that my DS was also compatible with GBA games. (I have a busy life, I never stopped to consider.) Anyways, with this game, I can regress to my childhood any time I want. This game also comes with Zelda Four Swords Adventures. The description in the manual seems interesting, but it requires that you have an actual GBA and that all your friends you want to play with have one too along with the connectors and another copy of the game. So, unless you have all that, you can't play it. But I honestly bought this game for the Link to the Past portion of it and I am thoroughly satisfied with that.Happy Winter-een-mas. :)

Great game!
I know I'm super far behind, but this was my first time ever playing a Link to the Past. I played the original NES Zelda, OoT, MM, WW, and SS all before playing this game and it was still amazing! It's blows my mind how creative, fun, and tricky they can make a game that is only 2D. Since this game I have played Link's Awakening and it was equally as clever and fun. I can't wait for a Link Between Worlds.I didn't get to play 4 swords due to only having one player, so my review only applies to L2P. Overall even if you have only played the 3D Zelda games I believe you will enjoy this game too. Zelda is such a great series that even playing a game (the original on SNES) developed over 20 years ago, it's still incredible!

The game that started the ideal Zelda formula :)
Lovely game, has a very gradual but always challenging learning curve. I was after "A link between worlds" but I only have the original DS so I figured I'd settle for this since the DS is backwards compatible. You're given a fairly large area to explore and continuously unlock dungeons of which you'll find a new item which'll be of use in the upcoming Boss fight and future puzzles. It's the standard Zelda formula of which anyone who has previously played a Zelda game will adore and enjoy. The idea that you can be anywhere outside and take this out your pocket is quite badass. I guess that's the main selling point for handheld consoles. Superb game, although more challenging than recent titles.

Item arrived quickly and was exactly as advertised
Item arrived in perfect condition and was exactly as advertised - just the GBA game itself, no instruction booklet, but the game was packaged very securely and arrived with no damage whatsoever. The files of the previous user were still on the game, but were easy enough to erase.Quite a challenging game, but it does function perfectly. I've had no issues whatsoever as of yet.Would purchase from this seller again.
