I have an Alienware 17 R2, and this fits ...
I have an Alienware 17 R2, and this fits into one of the 4 M.2 2280 slots in the internal bays. It is measurably and perceptibly faster than the 128GB Samsung that came with it from the factory -- and has had zero hiccups. This is my primary work machine, so reliability is key. My primary application requires a multi-threaded compile that touches 80,000 files, so random access time is important. I have zero complaints.... I will buy 3 more for the other slots when the price drops a bit more.... (It did not come with the screw... and you need one.)

Price and Performance
Inexpensive, performs well, no issues. Don't know what else to say. I bought it for my home server mainly because of price and performance specs. This is my primary drive, which runs Server 2012 and Hyper-V. Installed the drive, booted the computer, installed the OS. No special steps required.

Good performance but missing a few things
The performance of this SSD is excellent - as with any modern SSD. The price per storage capacity was very good, at least for when I bought it. The warranty is five years, which is excellent. I have no complaints about any of this. However, I will echo another user's complaints about sleep mode - sleep mode no longer works properly on my laptop since installing this SSD. Short sleeps (a few minutes) are fine. Anything longer than that and it fails to start back up when you open it back up; it will black screen for a few moments, then reboot. I will also note that it doesn't come with a screw. However, any M2-sized screw will work - if it turns out to be too long a screw for your particular motherboard, you can easily cut it down to size with a pair of wire cutters, garden shears, or anything else along those lines. All in all - a good SSD for the price. I would buy it again. The shortened boot times it gives essentially negate the lack of an effective sleep mode, as the system boots from a cold start so quickly I can barely see the Windows logo. However, if you feel that this lack of a sleep mode is a major issue for your workflow, I would look elsewhere. And whatever you do, don't forget to buy a screw.

Three Stars
Advertised as 540/520 read/write. Actual performance (tested multiple systems) about 450/400. Runs hot. Runs really hot.

If you dont have one, what are you waiting for?
fast don't even describe this.. I can get windows 10 to boot and be fully operational in literally about 3 seconds. I also loaded BF1 beta on this card with 32gigs of DDR3 corsair ram on a gigabye G1 gaming board with 990fx chipset and the rx480 VC . BF1 loads lightnigh fast, plays 60+ FPS on ultra settings. I love it

Bad hardware that you should avoid
Please avoid this SSD. I purchased this to replace the 128 GB M.2 already installed in my laptop. I easily cloned my system drive by putting this drive in an M.2 USB dock ( DEGOL USB 3.0 to NGFF M.2 SSD Hard Disk Box B Key SSD Adapter External Enclosure Case makes a cheap, serviceable enclosure), initializing the drive in Windows, and then downloading and running EaseUS TODO Free 10.0. I simply followed the wizard within the EaseUS software to clone the system partition. It took about an hour and a half to clone. Once done, I shut down my laptop, swapped the drives, and Windows came right back up. I then went into Disk Management and extended my "C" drive from 128 to 512 GB. Everything seemed to be OK. I even downloaded the SanDisk SSD Dashboard software and updated the firmware. After working for about an hour, I hit my sleep button and closed my laptop. The next day is when I noticed problems. The machine wouldn't boot back up. I was a bit confused, but noticed the battery light flashing. I plugged in my power chord and the machine rebooted fresh (as if I had fully shot down the night before). That appeared odd to me, so I tried putting the PC in sleep mode again while I was watching it. It never slept and eventually crashed. I researched a little more and found a lot of people having the same issue. I assumed this must just be a setting in Windows or even my BIOS that needed adjustment, so I reached out to SanDisk. Their support tech was nice, patient, and very helpful. However, the hardware is bad. He said the disk was unable to write at the appropriate performance levels and was thus not reporting activity properly. He suggested this was probably why Windows was crashing. The resolution was to replace the drive and to do it quickly. He was concerned that the drive may fail in the near future and was certain that it would definitely not have the anticipated lifespan that it should. Of course, hardware can be bad. It happens. However, too many people have seen the same thing. This leads me to believe that this model has a prevalent issue. My guess is that all of the others who have sleep issues on their laptops are also prone to premature failure. They are also probably not experiencing the levels of performance that they should. The fact that they are now using SSD rather than mechanical drives will feel like a huge performance gain, but not when compared to a properly working SSD drive. I've used other SanDisk products in the past and have had great success. I also have had good experience with Western Digital (who now owns SanDisk). But, this product has issues. I suggest trying another reputable manufacturer of your choice. For me, I'm returning this drive and switching to a Samsung 850 EVO - 500GB - M.2 SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-N5E500BW) .

Great quality and price.
Great product and best price for 512gb M.2 drive, I hadn't done enough research when building a new system. But depending on the motherboard you get it may support pcie for NVME m.2 drives for a performance increase but at a higher price, this is running sata3 interface so there is no performance gain over regular SATA SSDs which also use the sata3 interface.

Got a good deal on this product ($126
Got a good deal on this product ($126.09) back in early July 2016. They are installed in my Alienware 17 and have performed without problems since. Performance is more than adequate for my needs and equals that of the more expensive Crucial M550 that I previously installed. Been one year and I have had no problems. Meanwhile. I still haven't seen a 500GB M.2 SSD for $126.09.

Super leistung
