BEST Korean BBQ sauce
I discovered this stuff at the local Korean market. When I moved to L.A. I was introduced to Korean cuisine, and while most Korean food doesn't appeal, I quickly got hooked on Korean BBQ.I developed a fondness for Kalbi / Galbi barbecue beef flanken ribs, and after experimenting with several brands, I found CJ not only to be most affordable, but by far the tastiest sauce available.The difference is the Korean pear and apple puree, which gives the marinade a mellow sweetness without the sulphury quality other Korean BBQ sauces (which typically use molasses or brown sugar) tend to have.In addition to marinading a day or two in the refrigerator, I also slather it on while grilling or broiling over or under open flame. The sauce carmelizes nicely.I know I'm doing something right because most of the people in my apt building are Korean-Americans, and my flanken ribs are always a hit at the potlucks.The one improvement that can be made, is I recommend adding roasted or fresh minced garlic. 1-2 heaping tbsp per 29.6-oz bottle should do it (half for smaller size).
