It's not an appropriate application. This product is a wrap to repair a fracture. I doubt that you could secure it around a corner. Even if you were able to get it to adhere, it wouldn't be durable. It would also be unattractive.

Not sure about your application, but my guess is no. Fiberweld is a water-activated fiberglass wrap/strip. For your application, you might have better luck with using a sheet of fiberglass cloth to form into the helmet and then apply fiberglass resin to the cloth to make a reinforced shell.

can you patch a nonwater pipe with a half wrap

Not certain what you are describing as a half wrap. If you only use half of what is indicated, you will compromise the strength of the repair. If it is a very narrow pipe, you might be able to use less but there should be at least 3 "wraps" around the breach for stability and strength.
