I've owned a number of Victorinox knives over the years, and the Swiss Classic Foldable Picnic Knife is another excellent example of the brand's quality and practicality. The blade is exceptionally sharp straight out of the box and makes light work of everything from slicing bread and cheese to cutting fruit, meat and sandwiches. The partially serrated edge is particularly effective, giving clean cuts without crushing softer foods. One of the best features is that it folds away safely, making it ideal for carrying in a picnic basket, backpack or pocket without needing a blade cover. The locking mechanism feels secure in use and is easy to release when you're finished. Despite being lightweight, it feels solid and well made. The ergonomic handle provides a comfortable, confident grip, even when your hands are wet, and the overall build quality is exactly what you'd expect from Victorinox. Whether you're heading out for a picnic, camping, hiking or simply want a dedicated food preparation knife for days out, this is an excellent choice. A very lightweight yet sturdy knife. I like the shape – with its rounded tip – as it’s comfortable and safe to use. It’s also very sharp. I’d recommend taking one along on a picnic.

I like these for a picnic travel knife. They are sturdy, sharp and comfortable in your hand. The rounded tip is not the best for some uses but it is a lot safer to travel with as you don't have the fear of it stabbing through things if it comes unlocked. (although the lock is fairly good and i don't see it coming loose during transit).

A perfect knife for me for a fruit knife, sharp and extremely well made with it being great value too. Vicotorinox values summed up in this fantastic functional knife.

I've bought two of these ASTONISHINGLY SHARP Swiss Stainless Steel knives to take to cafés to overcome a poor combination of physical disability and standard café blunt cutlery. The description of size is a bit confusing, see my pictures, but I *think* the quoted sizing refers to the blade length but as the tool folds in half then it is twice the size when locked-open. The locking latch requires a simple squeeze sideways at the hinge-end of the blade. The black one I bought is serrated (I knew that before ordering) whereas the red one is a smooth blade (Italian wording to the advert, and I knew I would be recieving a smooth blade). Provided these are carried in a closed bag (I put them in a lunchbox with some other disability cutlery) "with good reason" then they are legal to have "about your person". They would not be legal to carry in a public place just, say, in your pocket. Be very careful if manually washing up, these are *razor sharp* and ideal for cutting cooked meat.

I bought this knife because it is a simple yet elegant addition to my camping/hiking equipment. I have several of Victorinox's paring knives at home but didn't like taking them camping due to the lack of sheath. Solution - their folding knife. A little ingenuity told me that the rounded blade has the same cutting edge as their pointed knives and I was correct. Within 30 minutes of opening up my parcel I had it converted into a drop point. A simple stencil from one of my other knives and a little handy work in the shed (file, grinder, belt sander, any will do, then neatened up with some 800 grit) and hey presto we have a great kitchen knife that can be chucked in the backpack without worry. High quality, great value for money and I expect many years of simple and safe use. Shown alongside a standard 10cm paring knife. This is a safe sharp knife, as it's got this great safety feature, we don't have to be scared when not in use. It's handy and good for anything.

diseño comodo, muy ligero, funciona perfectamente como cuchillo mondador para cocina, ajusta excelentemente bien en la bolsa lateral del brazo izquierdo de las filipinas de cocina, muy seguro, sin riesgo de cortes, unico detalle en contra es la punta redonda, ya que en cocina se requiere en ocaciones pinchar.

Ein besseres Messer für z.B. Camping oder Brotzeit gibt es nicht! - Das aktuell recht helle Rot fällt gut auf im Gepäck oder wenns es mal z.B. ins Gras fällt. - Der Klappmechanismus läuft leicht und die Klinge wird per liner lock sehr gut ver-/entriegelt. - Das Messer (Flachschliff-Variante) ist richtig scharf. - Dünn ausgeschliffene Klinge, die sehr gut nachgeschärft werden kann. - Runde Klingenspitze für Marmelade und Nougatcreme. - Ausgesprochen „stainless“. - Sehr gute Größe, passt zusammengeklappt in jede Brotzeit-Dose. Mit diesem Messer in Kombination mit einem schweizer Offiziersmesser ist man für jeden Urlaub gerüstet! Achtung: einschlägige Waffengesetzgebung in den einzelnen Ländern beachten! Deutschland: Ein besonders böswilliger Beamter könnte z.B. auf die Idee kommen das Gemüsemesser hätte eine feststellbare Klinge und wäre auch mit einer Hand zu öffnen… In Italien nicht mitführen in der Öffentlichkeit… Grandioses Brotzeit-/Campingmesser mit (noch) aktzeptabler Wirtschaftlichkeit- top!
