I drink and order both chocolate and vanilla creme. The vanilla can sometimes feel gritty and leave an aftertaste but bearable and good to have as variety. Chocolate tastes great... You won't be able to tell it is sugar free, the flavor is rich but not too sweet, it tastes like a chocolate shake. Great for morning meal replacement and post workout protein boost. Price is amazing compared to other premixed brands. Shelf Stable. And despite having "milk proteins" seems to have no effect on my Lactose Intolerance. You won't be disappointed with Muscle Milk and will be pleased by the value, convenience of ready to go containers with 25gm of protein and the great taste.

I usually buy the "Premier Protein" brand, which has 30g protein instead of 25 (muscle milk). This was on sale this time, so I tried it instead. The taste is very similar, but I think this one tastes a bit better and has no dairy in it. They are like having a smooth chocolate milk shake, but just a tad bit thicker then normal chocolate milk and super smooth. I have mostly been using it for breakfast or quick lunches. The price for a 12 pack varies a lot online and on Amazon. Great for travel or day trips. Overall, its a great protein drink. The price is better than anywhere I could find around my area. Also, I am small and trying to build more muscle and this works great for protein right after my workout, then I eat a regular meal about an hour later. Plus a smoothie. This should not be considered an actual meal in any way if you are looking to benefit from added proteins. It is filling but not so much that you don't want a dinner ( or lunch/breakfast ) depending on when you work out. I always have mine super cold. Warm is NOT good!! LOL! Not in any way, don't even try it! I would recommend to anyone who is looking to get more than 50 -75 grams of protein a day. This is an automatic 25 grams, to me, that is a huge benefit and keeps from having to search for even more food with high protein besides the standard meat products. which I do eat, but how much chicken and steak can a person eat in a day?!!

I have bought these several times both here and at costco. However costco has not been carrying strawberry. I use them intermittently as a meal replacement or when I am on the go and need a quick boost of protein. They have less salt than the comparable orgain product. While I am a fan of strawberry flavored items in general, this has a bit of a weird nestle quick fake strawberry taste however it's still palatable and it is not at all gritty like some other products. It goes down smooth and I did not experience any after taste. I think the chocolate is the best flavor. I have finished almost all of the strawberry and I have since purchased the chocolate flavor which tastes pretty good when it's cold.

I've been buying Muscle Milk products occasionally for years so I had no hesitation when I saw this advertised at such a great price. I don't know what the company has done to the products but this is definitely not the shake I bought 5-6 years ago. It's not gross, the consistency is good. It's very smooth. No weird chalkiness or clumps. The aftertaste though, it's odd. Metallic maybe? Mineral-ly? For reference, I bought the vanilla. I've tried just about all the mainstream protein shakes available and this is the only one I've had (recently) with this aftertaste. I don't like to add a bunch of things to my shakes, I generally just drink them as-is, so adding this to a smoothie isn't really my gig. It may work to cover up the odd taste though. Even adding some chocolate syrup didn't cover up the odd aftertaste. I'll finish the case I have but I won't be buying again. They're definitely drinkable, just not particularly good.
