460-Bbvf Premier Sleeve for Xps 15/Precision 5510

It's been a good purchase; have had this sleeve for almost six years now (purchased mid-2017). A good thing is that it snugly fits around the Dell Precision 5520, so not much added thickness (like you would get with a foam sleeve). It may offer slightly less protection than a thick foam sleeve (it would protect less in a drop onto a concrete floor, say), but still protects well against bumps, and any kind of scratches. The cover closes by means of magnets.Some of the cover material is starting to peel, but it is still a fine sleeve. It's been around the world a few times, and held up well. Just came across this purchase when looking thru old purchases, so thought I'd add the review.Update January 2025: the old sleeve really started to peel (after regular use since purchasing it in 2017), so have just purchased and received a new one. Looks exactly like the old one, and as others have commented, the magnetic closing "strips" need a bit of usage to close well (one is supposed to go on top; if the other one is on top, it closes less well).This sleeve appears of good quality, as the first one I got lasted around 7 years, effectively.

I was also considering a small, minimal attache for my laptop, but because of the small bezel of the XPS15, it's larger than most 13" laptops and smaller than most 15" laptops even though it has a 15" screen. I ultimately decided to find a minimal sleeve and put my laptop either in my backpack or older 15" unpadded computer attache. The Premier Sleeve fits that expectation perfectly.The two top flaps overlap and secure magnetically. It's not that difficult for me to open both flaps with one hand, reach in, and pull out my laptop. The sides are mostly rigid with some flex, so they will give a bit when you reach around the laptop. Otherwise, the laptop is a snug fit. The only problem I've had is when I still have my wireless mouse USB hub still in the laptop's side USB ports. It only sticks out about a quarter inch, or about a half centimeter, but it will snag on the ribbon label inside the sleeve if they are both on the same side. Just a minor inconvenience.The inside is like a low-knap red flocking and the outside is a bit matte and rubbery. Easy to hang onto, but after a while, oil from the hands will become noticeable where you touch it frequently.While the sides are mostly rigid, the ends and the bottom are flexible and not actually padded. The rigid sides are just longer than the body of the laptop and would offer a little protection. The sleeve is not really made to protect a laptop from being dropped, but it will protect it from being knocked around int a backpack or attache bag. And if you take it out to carry it, it looks pretty much like a nice leather portfolio. When it's empty, it will fold flat, so you could put it on a surface and the laptop on top so the sleeve is out of the way. Because of the rubbery texture, it would probably serve as a non-skip surface between laptop and a hard, slick surface.

Quality Fit Appearence

It is a pricey sleeve cover, but if you clicked on "buy", this should come as no surprise. It looks nice, professional, and feels as a good quality product. It prevents your laptop of getting filthy or dusty inside a backpack. It won't save your laptop from much damage in case of fall nor be the subject of admiration from other meeting participants.10/10 do not regret buying.

Fits like a glove, pleasant texture, and premium feel. Overall, it's a great sleeve, probably the only one TO get for your beloved XPS. I took off one star because the magnetic closure isn't perfect. It tends to pop open if you do not really seal it with a firm press. It does seem to be getting better now that it has been forming to the shape of the laptop, but I think Dell could have made an ever so slight adjustment to the design to make it a 5 star product.Update:The magnetic closure works better with time once it's broken in. Upgraded to 5 stars.

The magnets do not work, the sleeve stays open. I have returned the product and requested a refund.

I like the form factor of this sleeve. It fits perfect on my XPS15. The new dell sleeves are soft and not easy to put your XPS15 in, absolute rubbish. This one is perfect!

Great case, it fits my XPS 15" (9550) perfectly.This product description seems to be wrong. What I was shipped was not a "(L)" labeled product but it was labeled as "Dell Premier Sleeve (M)". Regardless of being apparently "medium" instead of "large", it does fit my XPS 15" perfectly, so at least that part of the description is correct.
